About this property

In the hilltop village of Borrowby, there sits a working farm where this property, Apple Tree Cottage rests opposite the owner's home, in this delightful part of Yorkshire. Ideally suited for a family or a couple, this property boasts bright and refreshing decor, while from the outside keeping its farmhouse country charm. An open-plan living space invites you into the property, with the sitting area having two large plush sofas facing a TV for when a quiet evening of home entertainment is on the cards. Across the way is the dining table which sits next to the windows that will pour in the last natural light of the evening just as you sit down to eat. You can cook those delicious meals in the spacious contemporary kitchen, complete with integrated electric oven, overlooking the rest of the room, so you can be the chef and still be involved in the conversation! One of the property's best features would have to be the ground-floor wet room, which is fantastic for those less able as it has a wall-fixed shower seat, and a separate bath, with another door which joins onto the delightful ground-floor twin room. Head up the stairs and be further impressed by the vast master bedroom; four velux windows light up the room with sunshine and bounce off the sloping ceilings, with your own flatscreen TV up there as well for those lazy Sunday mornings in bed. The adjoining en-suite bathroom is a real treat, where you can sink into the free-standing bath tub to soak in peace, or use the separate walk-in shower if time is of the essence, the choice is yours! You will really appreciate the large lawned area outside in the summer, perfect for keeping the kids entertained outside, while you can sip a nice cold drink on the garden table and chairs. Being between the two national parks of the Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors, you won't have an excuse not to visit these spectacularly vast landscapes, with the option of exploring the terrain on foot, bicycle or even horse-back. For a great day out you can head over to Thirsk Racecourse, with fun not just for the adults, they hold fantastic family days with entertainment for the kids as well, so put your bets on! Retreat to Apple Tree Cottage to soak up the countryside and working farm life, while enjoying all that Yorkshire has to offer.

Northallerton is a market town lying in the Vale of Mowbray, made up of four wards it has been a settlement since Roman times. Its High Street is home to a busy shopping centre, independent shops, cafes and pubs with a market taking place every Wednesday and Saturday. Northallerton makes an excellent base for exploring Herriot Country, with the Yorkshire Dales and the North York Moors Nation parks either side of it, you can go on bike rides, horse treks or just a classic ramble.

Quiet location, good size cottage which is nicely decorated, clean and well equipped. Parking right outside the door was excellent to have. Good size garden for the better weather. My only negative comment would be that the beds are to firm for us, but of course that is a personal preference. We would be happy to stay here again when in the area.

Great position away from every one, views are wonderful, see for miles on a clear day, central to both dales and moors, nice relaxing week (should have made it two),

The fresh flowers, coffee and sparkling wine were very much appreciated. Great location for jaunts into the Yorkshire Dales and Moors and the views from the cottage were super too.
