Guests say

The Wheel House is a characterful cottage praised for its stunning, peaceful location and amazing views, ideal for those seeking tranquility. Guests appreciate the comfortable, spacious interiors and the proximity to local attractions. While some maintenance issues are noted, the overall experience is enhanced by the host's thoughtful touches, including welcome gifts.

Some guests reported cleanliness issues such as crumbs under the toaster and dirt under the sofa. However, others found the property clean and comfortable, indicating inconsistency in cleaning standards.

The location is highly praised for its peace, quiet, and beautiful countryside views. It is remote yet within reach of local villages, making it ideal for those looking for a tranquil retreat.

The property is generally found to be comfortable and spacious with good walks nearby. However, some guests mentioned that the sofas were low and not supportive, suggesting room for improvement in seating comfort.

While the property is well-equipped and has had positive comments on its facilities, there are several maintenance issues noted, such as non-working blinds, a broken bathroom lock, and the need for a fresh coat of paint.

The host's thoughtfulness is evident through gifts of wine and biscuits, and prompt provision of information. It should be noted that such gestures, while appreciated, may not be guaranteed for every stay.

It's a nice cottage but could be so much more. Not all blinds work, lock on bathroom door doesn't work, crumbs in and plastic under toaster, dirty under sofa, no liners in bathroom or bed room bins, window dirty on inside, some window panels need replacing, flies so many flies, windows/doors outside need some treatment, extractor fab still had label on over vent, sofas low and not supportive, need fresh lick of paint as marks and scuffs around the place. Just needs some tlc.

The Wheelhouse was a beautiful building that was clean and comfortable for our week in the area.Perfectly placed for exploring the Yorkshire Moors and Whitby and for some business meetings I had in Hartlepool.Only disappointing thing was garden is not fully enclosed for the dog (which I didn’t think was made clear in details) and therefore wasn’t as dog friendly as we’d hoped for.
