The cottage was very clean and fantastically supplied with everything you could need for a self contained holiday, there was even a small starter pack with some fantastic brownies and fresh milk. It is larger than it looks on the photos, and the parking is very private and secure. The village had one bar, which is definitely worth a visit for the food and friendliness, we had a £10 voucher supplied by the cottage which we used in the bar. Only slight downside is no shops in the village, and if you want to go walking you really need to drive somewhere as the local roads are a bit dangerous, we did walk to the Herdsman bar at North Cowton, which is really worth the effort, we got the bus back which appears to be reliable. We had a fantastic relaxed stay.

There are an abundance of instructions and notices as you enter the property which instantly makes you feel on edge....what happens if I put the wrong rubbish in a recycling bin! Also the bed was very uncomfortable and the springs dug into us, leaving us feeling achy and not rested at all! Cleanliness was generally good but lots of cobwebs at eye level for me (I'm tall) which made me think they are cleaning it themselves and they are a lot shorter than me. The location and local pub were excellent though.

We had a wonderful stay at the Old Dairy! The cottage was beautiful and it had everything and more for what we needed. Ideal base for visiting different areas such as Richmond, North Allerton, Osmotherley, Forbidden Corner. We had a meal at The Beeswing Inn which was a couple of minutes walk from the cottage. Food was good and felt very welcomed. We will definitely be booking again
