Hackforth is a charming village just over 4 miles from Bedale. The village itself offers a public house which serves excellent pub food should you decide to dine out. You can enjoy an abundance of walks from your doorstep. Stroll through the deer park to the neighbouring village Hornby with it's 11th century church. Pack a picnic and head to the dales offering walks for all levels from soft rolling hills to craggy moors for the more adventurous. The small market town of Bedale is steeped in history, some of which can be found in the local museum. The town also offers a weekly market, interesting churches, various craft and antique shops, cafes, and pubs, which provide local beers and home cooked food.
