Marsden offers awards winning restaurants, ancient pubs and a National Trust owned Marsden Moor, a village that has appeared in the TV shows 'Last of the Summer Wine' and 'The League of Gentleman'. The village hosts many festivals and events throughout the year including the Marsden Jazz Festival held every October. Marsden is popular among walkers and was awarded Walkers are Welcome status in 2010. The village is just a short drive away from the Peak District National Park and is well worth a visit for you outdoors people. Huddersfield is a short drive away, a beautiful city as well as Manchester within driving distance which offers a different and more busy trip, ideal for shopping.
