    About this property

A charming 250-year old stone cottage, one of four cottages on site,
adjacent to the owner's farmhouse on a working farm with small cottage
complex, close to the centre of Hepworth, 2 miles from Holmfirth. Boasting traditional features, such as oak beams in the sitting room, this cosy cottage is just a short walk from the village pubs and restaurants. Guests enjoy free use of the owner's superb indoor heated pool, sauna and steam room, and can book their own time for use of the facilities. The cottage also has private hot-tub. Children are welcome to help on the farm with the hens, pigs, sheep, cows and other animals or enjoy the nearby playground. The lovely surroundings and fabulous walks ensure visitors have all the ingredients for a relaxing, enjoyable holiday. Explore the surrounding Dales or the Peak District, within easy driving distance. A great location with something for everyone.

The traditional Pennine village of Hepworth is located in the heart of the beautiful Holme Valley, on the edge of the West Yorkshire Pennines. First noted in the Domesday Book, the village is composed of stone cottages, a beautiful church and an excellent pub with restaurant. The village itself still practices many traditions including the centuries old Hepworth Feast commemorating the end of the Great Plague in Hepworth on the last Saturday of every June. The neighbouring towns of Hepworth and Holmfirth are most renowned as the home of the long running comedy series 'Last of the Summer Wine'. The nearby Colne Valley is home to the fictional 'Skelthwaite' from the equally successful television series 'Where the Heart Is'. This is an incredibly scenic area, steeped in history and tradition.

"The facilities were exceptional. They had simply thought of everything. The highlight of the holiday was being able to feed the animals with the farmer. We all thoroughly enjoyed our time at Bray Cottage."

" Fortunately the calibre of the facilities more than made up for it. "

" A perfect place to stay for a relaxing break. The cottage was exceptionally clean as was the lovely pool area. The cottage is so well equipped and the little farm shop on site has all the essentials you may need. We would have no hesitation in returning to Bray Cottage and using Cottages as the booking process was simple and we were providing with clear instructions on how to enter the cottage, etc. "

" Loads of space, original features, modern additions and lots of bits that you'd never expect to be there. Hot tub was spot on. Uppergate farm and the facilities are just fabulous. The pool is great, the games and play area was perfect for us, and being able to help the Farmer feed the animals every morning was just great. I would have no reservations about recommending here, we will be booking again :) "

" An extension has been added in last year or so: this is a bedroom with shower-room. Property: beautifully finished and comfortable. It was very well equipped, with things like soap and dishwasher tablets - all of which made settling into the cottage very easy. The garden catches morning and evening sun: we were lucky with the weather, and ate outside every day. "

" Bray Cottage was lovely, it had everything we needed. There was something for everyone to do. Feeding the animals in the morning, then a private swim session in the pool (steam room & sauna if you wish) , then we went to help let the hens out and collect the eggs. My 12yr old daughter absolutely loved helping. My 13yr old daughter not an animal person but she loved the swimming and cottage, also we all went on some walks around the area which were recommended. My husband loved the animals, cottage and walking, there are lots of photo opportunities if interested in photography, I Ioved everything but preferred the easier walks as not as fit as i should be. Everyone was welcoming and lovely. Fresh Eggs for breakfast if you wish, also available is different meats if you have nice weather, here is a barbeque in the shed. Fantastic all round holiday. Charlotte just reminded me to say that there is a play area where you will find LEO a really cute rabbit, who is trying to dig a tunnel under his play pen (hope he doesn't escape) There is also a big shed (games room) Pool table, football table and table tennis. Would definately Recommend this holiday. A+++ "

" This cottage was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed with plenty of space for us and our 3 young children. We all enjoyed joining in with the activities on the farm and the playground also, was great for the children. The owners were very friendly and helpful. We had good weather for april and had plenty of opportunities to explore the local area with its wealth of lovely walks etc.The highlight was being able to swim in the pool every day, particularly as it was lovely and warm and the booking system meant that you could reserve a session for private use before each day and plan your other activities accordingly. " We felt welcome in this cottage, which is based on a farm. Our children enjoyed collecting eggs in the morning and helping to feed the animals. The most relaxing part of the holiday was the hour and a half each day of exclusive use of the indoor pool and sauna, where you can recline and watch the geese potter about through the windows. Plenty of pretty walks from the village and lots for children to do in the area. Ours enjoyed visiting Eureka in Halifax and the National Mining Museum near Wakefield. The cottage was clean and cosy.
