About this property

Situated on the outskirts of the thriving town of Todmorden, resting in the Upper Calder Valley district of West Yorkshire, is this delightful, quirky four-storey cottage. The property can be accessed via a lovely cobbled driveway, which has a parking space for one car and stone steps leading up to the front door that can be found on the third floor. Inside, the owner has renovated the property into an elegant and modern holiday home, ideal for a small group of friends or families looking to explore this wonderful rural location, with stunning views from every window. The kitchen is wonderfully appointed to the front, and has been fitted with modern units and sleek worktops, boasting a quirky designed counter made from pennies. The dining room rests adjacent and provides ample seating for family gatherings over a delicious home-cooked meal and a well-deserved glass of wine. Ascending the wonderfully historic stone steps to the first floor, you will find a tastefully decorated sitting room, boasting a large stone inglenook fireplace, which houses a feature fire and benefits from the lovely exposed beams, which give the room a warm and homely feeling. From the lounge area is a door to an enclosed patio terrace, where you can sit with a refreshing beverage and delight in the lovely views across the town. Follow the steps (steep) up to the second floor where you will discover a well-presented king-size bedroom, with a range of modern furnishings to store your personal items and large windows, which give the rooms an abundance of natural light, and the third floor also hosts a king-size bedroom. A family bathroom also rests on this floor, and has an elegant corner bath, where you can enjoy a relaxing soak of an evening after a tiring day sightseeing. The property is a stone’s throw from the Rochdale canal, great for walking and admiring the scenic views. Todmorden is a beautiful market town which is surrounded by a delightful country scenery, which you can explore by simply walking or hiking. You will find a selection of traditional pubs and restaurants serving fine food and real Yorkshire ale, whilst the nearby shops and supermarkets have all you could need to stock up for the whole week! Stoodley Pike is a nearby hill, standing at 1,300 foot and is noted for its historic 121-foot monument, with lovely views across Todmorden. Return to your historic cottage for a relaxing evening with your loved ones.

Todmorden is a market town in the area of Calderdale, just under 5 miles from the popular destination of Hebden Bridge, in the middle of wonderful scenery provided by the three valleys which surround it, and which offer great opportunities for walking, cycling, riding and bird watching. Todmorden has a rich industrial history, and today offers a fine selection of cafes, shops and pubs. Just a few miles away, Hebden Bridge is a quirky town with a relaxed air, and further amenities. From here it is easy to head over the moors to Haworth where the splendid Parsonage Museum commemorates the famous Bronte family who lived there. The area is also a must for steam railway enthusiasts who will enjoy the thriving Worth Valley Railway. A charming blend of town and country living.
