We had the best 5 days at Thornton Park Farm Lodge, we stayed in the Highland Lodge and it was great, the views were absolutely stunning and the farmer was so welcoming. We had a really relaxing few days, we went to Hebden Bridge and Hardcastle Craggs, and ate at The Alma Inn twice. The weather was hot so we didn't do too much and spent most time in the garden reading, sunbathing or in the hot tub, however the lodge would be perfect as a base or to spend time in. We had our dog with us so it was great that the garden area was fenced off. My only suggestions/preferences would be for a bigger comfier sofa, as the sofa was quite small and was a bit uncomfortable if you were spending more time indoors in the colder months (you couldn't really get snuggled up on it). Also there wasn't a lot of plates, bowls, or cutlery which I understand the lodge was only suitable for 2 people but when having a BBQ we quickly ran out. Also there wasn't really any proper glasses, there was 2 pint glasses and 2 plastic flutes, all the other glasses were like disposable champagne glasses, which is great for when outside and in the hot tub, but it would have been nice to have a couple of tumbler glasses. Not negatives in any way at all, just some things I would have liked! We really enjoyed our time here and would return. The roads to the farm are almost single track and very windy, so just a heads up if you're not used to driving on roads like that, the views are incredible though!

Lovely views, absolutely silent of a night, no traffic for miles. Working farm with wild life on your door step. One day horses, next morning sheep and little lambs.Owners are very friendly.Hot tub was great BUT bring sliders or flip flops. Surrounding the tub with white stones looks pretty but if like me you have no footwear.. Then think Lego - barefoot.. Stayed in the Highland and it was great. Huge bed, large TV with all relevant apps to log into.Small gripes to be aware of.. Freezer is unusable as fridge door doesn't open fully preventing you from opening it. This is an issue if you have brought frozen raw dog food like us. Also no wardrobe so extended stays may be problematic but shirt stays youll survive.The rest is all positive. Still 5/5 would recommend.Can recommend pub down the road Alma Inn for food. They do takeaway pizza/burgers as well if you want to sit in the lodge garden and enjoy the views with your tea.
