    About this property

A beautifully presented 19th century former Coachman's Lodge attached to the owner's home and award-winning bed and breakfast, ideally located on the slopes of the Malvern Hills, just a short distance from the town. The cottage oozes character and charm and has been lovingly furnished throughout to provide warm and welcoming accommodation, ideal for a romantic break in a stunning part of the country. The quality and owner's personal touches are evident as you enter this charming cottage, with a delightful sitting room complete with wall beams, exposed brick fireplace housing the open fire and sumptuous seating. Through the sitting room is the luxurious king-size bedroom boasting long distant views. Descend the stairs from the hallway, ducking to avoid the low ceiling, to the lovely kitchen with dining area. This cosy area with its terracotta tiled floor, charming inglenook fireplace housing the range cooker, quirky pantry and rustic dining table, is perfect for enjoying a romantic dinner or spending time chatting over a morning coffee. From the kitchen is a useful utility room, with vaulted ceiling, which can be accessed from the side of the cottage making it ideal for walking gear and bike storage. The owner has a seating area in their pretty cottage garden for guests to relax with a refreshing drink. Many lovely walks and cycle rides on the Malvern Hills are available from the doorstep of the cottage, which is also situated on the local bus route. The town centre of Great Malvern is only a short drive away and the Three Counties Showground a short drive or walk. A charming cottage for a memorable holiday at any time of year.

"Excellent shower and nicely designed interior. Can walk out on to the hills from the house. Not really in walking distance to pubs in evening/dark."

" The owners, Lois and Brendan, run a bed & breakfast next door to the cottage and they have ensured that guests have everything they need. Beautifully restored and decorated, with a very well appointed kitchen and large bathroom with excellent shower. The whole cottage is very well heated, with a log fire if you want it. Great bedroom with views to die for and a very comfortable bed. This really is a perfect, cosy cottage to stay in to explore this area of outstanding natural beauty. Our first visit to this area of Britain and we have been blown away by the towns, villages and, of course, the hills. Croome House and gardens are well worth a visit. Great Malvern is an attractive and vibrant town - we saw a kingfisher in the beautiful Priory Gardens. Loads of great walks and country pubs everywhere. Totally recommend. "
    Mrs Thompson ‐ 1 Dec 2018
" Lois and Brendan are very kind and helpful hosts. The cottage is great for a couple, or three people maximum. It is beautifully decorated and the views from the bedroom are outstanding.. We were very cosy during our New Year stay and loved coming back to the cottage, and the log fire ,after a day out in the spectacular Malvern Hills. I would definitely recommend Woodland Cottage. "
    Ms Cole ‐ 1 Nov 2018
"Nice and clean, well heated, with good kitchen equipment. Nice hot shower. Characterful cottage. Very close to footpaths leading up to the hills. We were able to park off-road. There was a basket of firewood provided, though you have to buy your own once that's gone. And a complimentary bottle of wine on arrival. Really very pleased."
    Mrs Bishop ‐ 1 Oct 2018
"Perfectly Clean and lovely and warm. The sofa bed in the lounge was a plus (we hadn’t noticed that in the details). As we were on a under 17 driving course at the Three Counties Showground this was the perfect retreat as an easy 5 minutes drive. We would definitely recommend it."
    Mrs Reid ‐ 1 Oct 2018
" It is a wonderfully characterful place and the owners, who live next door, have done an excellent job of renovating it and decorating it - it combines comfortable, modern, characterful and quirky. The cosy living room (open fireplace) is on the road side whilst the bedroom has the most incredible views - I could sit and watch them all day. The attached en-suite is to a high standard and you also have the same views from the loo! The basement kitchen is again full of character, has everything you need and is comfortable to have meals in, and they still managed to squeeze in a dishwasher, thank goodness. You can walk up to the Hills straight from the door - very handy - and only 10 minutes up the road to Great Malvern which has a large Waitrose amongst plenty of other shops. You can park in front of Brendan and Lois’ place next door. "

"I found a very professional organisation. The owners of Woodland Cottage were very friendly and helpful, but are terribly let down by their recommended insurance company. We had to cancel our holiday after two days due to food poisoning. The insurance company were Less than helpful. As a consequence I will not be using again, nor will I be recommending it to anyone."

"taking advantage of a last minute change of plans to have a relaxed christmas away , we selected this cottage from website , we were pleased that it would accept our 'custom' booking (four days across christmas) that many wouldn't. after an easy journey , we were welcomed in person by Brendon and Lois ,shown the cottage and treated to some delicious mulled wine. the cottage is larger than the pictures suggest ,with a delightfully comfortable bed , beautifully lit for lazy mornings, a cosy living room for evenings by the fire and a clean , smart and convivial kitchen. although the weather was wet we enjoyed the surrounding countryside , with some short walks and drives, but were always keen and happy to get back to Woodlands, A big thanks to Brendon and Lois for achieving so much with the cttage and extending such a warm welcome, Adrian and Alison"

    - Mr Lee, August 2016
"It was a brilliant place to explore the Malvern Hills and there were lots of other places to go that were not to far away e.g. The Morgan factory, Croome Court etc. The owners were very hospitable and welcoming. We would certainly go again."
    - KalJen1, November 2016
"Had a lovely week at Woodlands. Met by Lois who was so friendly and informative and then left us to it . The cottage has been restored to retain the character. We loved it. The Thai connection. Dan was great. Benedictos Italian. The Railway okay. Kettle sings fantastic views. Little Malvern Prory gorgeous little church. Loved this break and would highly recommend."

Mr John Clarke, Wolverhampton, West Midlands
"Great location for walking the Malvern Hills. The cottage was very comfortable and everything you needed was there with great views from the bedroom. The owners were very friendly and helpful. Hopefully we will be back next year!"
    Mr James Clarke, Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire

"We had a wonderful meal at The cottage in the woods, just above us in the hills, worth a visit."
    - Mr Clarke, April 2018
"We both loved it. If thinking of visiting the area again would probably try and book this cottage as it was ideal for our needs."
    - Ms Waring, April 2018
"The cottage had every thing we could possibly need and more."
    - Mr Harris, May 2018
"We booked fairly recently, as the result of having had previous half term plans changed. We definitely entered Saturday to Saturday into the online calendar (in line with my husband's working pattern). It was a shock to be contacted on Friday 1st June, being told that we should have vacated that day! Having to return to the cottage, pack up and leave in a hurry was inconvenient and embarrassing. Admittedly the small print does give Friday (25th ) as the arrival date, but it was FAR from clear. A Friday start date doesn't seem very practical, for most people, unless you are only staying for the weekend, hardly very customer friendly, is it? Please spend less time bombarding us, daily, with advertising e-mails and more time highlighting the pertinent facts. We have already booked another cottage for August, the experience in Malvern has left us feeling anxious and disappointed. Let's hope our next experience is more positive."
    - Mrs Grix, July 2018
    "Fab area accommodation first class."

"Just got back from a relaxing week staying at Woodland cottage. What a lovely place, so full of character. It's a perfect base for exploring the Malvern hills and beyond. Lovely eating in the cosy kitchen in the evening complete with candles and fairy lights. ( Might have to book again nearer Christmas!) Ate out at the local pub three times. Food excellent. Good curry night and Italian night. Quiz night was hilarious but probably not intentional. Thanks Lois and Brendan . We will definitely recommend your cottage to friends and family"
