About this property

Cleobury Mortimer 5.3 miles. Resting in the rural Shropshire countryside in Oreton near the market town of Cleobury Mortimer is Stonehaven. This wonderful annexe benefits from a tranquil setting amidst peaceful countryside and an open-plan living space welcoming two guests; perfect for a couple seeking a romantic retreat away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Cross the threshold and unwind in front of the Smart TV and the warmth of the electric fire while your partner pampers you with a romantic meal prepared in the fully-equipped kitchen. Dine together at the intimate dining table before stepping outside to toast your retreat with a glass of fizz upon the garden furniture. You may even spot the horses, goats, ducks, and hens that live on site! When the sun sets, head inside and climb the stairs to the first floor to wash off the day in the en-suite shower room before sloping off to sleep in the double bed. A wealth of walking and cycling trails surround Stonehaven as well as the nearby Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty where you can roam the vast terrain known for its verdant landscape and views across the English and Welsh countryside. The Wyre Forest National Nature Reserve is easily accessible by car and is bursting at the seams with trails, walking routes, cycling opportunities and even horse riding. Stock up on essentials in the nearby market town of Cleobury Mortimer, which boasts a few shops and The Stable Tavern, a wonderful setting for date night. Or venture to the historic town of Ludlow housing the spectacular Ludlow Castle which you can explore before enjoying a picnic on its grounds; if you time your trip right you may even be able to experience food festivals taking place there. There is also a myriad of bars and pubs like the Rose and Crown, Blue Boar and Ye Olde Bull Ring Tavern, ideal for those seeking a more vibrant nightlife. Make memories as a couple at Stonehaven.

In the rural centre of South Shropshire is the charming tiny town of Cleobury Mortimer. The town features a unique selection of boutiques, a brewery, pubs, and restaurants, but it is most well-known for its distinctive church with a curiously crooked steeple. The renowned Ironbridge World Heritage Site, Bridgnorth, Tenbury Wells, and the mediaeval market towns of Ludlow (with its magnificent castle), are all easily accessible. The Clee Hills and Wyre Forest are great places to go walking, and nearby horseback riding, golfing, and fishing are other options.

So beautiful and comfortable - a relaxing few days away. Fresh milk, eggs and local honey provided also. The owner was close by and quick to respond to any questions. I shall definitely be back!

Ideally located for exploring the local area - Matilda was the perfect host.

The owner , Matilda is very friendly and ready to help if needs be . The cottage is comfortable and clean and was well equipped with the benefit of the generous welcome pack . The setting is better than expected and once you have negotiated the unmade lane to the property you arrive at this little oasis to be met by Matilda and her menagerie it is worth the drive up the rough lane . It made a pleasant change to drive around the traffic free lanes and side roads and visit some of the lovely towns and villages in the area . Our favourite places to visit being Clee Hill and Clee Summit ,Bewdley , Leominster ,Ludlow ,Stourport and Worcester . The nearby Safari Park is well worth a visit . Would recommend to anyone looking for a quiet get away from it all holiday rental .
