About this property

Settled on a working sheep farm in the quaint village of Peopleton, rests this stylish barn conversion, Hallgarth Farm Cottage. Enjoying far-reaching views of the unspoilt countryside of Worcestershire, this pet-friendly cottage is idyllic for a family of four. Drive up your own private entrance and be greeted by two off-road parking spaces, on the owner's grounds, and admire your oak framed holiday home. Step into the entrance hallway to kick-off your walking boots and hang your jackets, ready for a ramble. Climb upstairs to the first floor to find the open-plan living space, with sloped ceilings and a south facing balcony to soak in the sweeping countryside.

Unwind on the recliner sofa with a cup of tea and flicker through the TV with Freeview to catch-up on your favourite shows. When stomachs begin to rumble, the chef of the group can whip up tasty dishes in the kitchen area, with an electric oven and induction hob to assist with the cooking. The neat and tidy one of the group will be delighted with the built-in dishwasher and washer/dryer for an easy clean-up! Take a seat at the dining table for four to enjoy a meal together and why not uncork a bottle of fizz to toast to your hideaway? Watch the sunset from the Juliet balcony or relax on the other balcony, with a table and chairs to soak in the sights.

Head down to the ground floor to explore the garden area, where a barbecue offers alternative dining arrangements, and a hot tub provides a moment of relaxation. As the sky grows dark, retreat up to the first floor to choose between a double or a twin bedroom, both with Smart TVs and an en-suite shower for a private rinse. Awaken with a steaming cup of coffee, courtesy of the coffee maker and make use of the appliances to conjure a home-cooked breakfast. If you fancy a break from cooking, take a short stroll to a traditional British pub, The Crown Inn, for a light lunch or hearty meal.

Sporting enthusiasts will be thrilled with The Vale Golf & Country Club and avid walkers can take their canines to Millenium Woods or explore as you step from the front door on many local walks. There were so many small touches like having the heating on when we arrive and having the fire ready to light for us made all the difference with the lovely welcome hamper too. The entire place was spotless, especially with it being dog friendly you can usually notice a smell of previous dogs or dog hairs but there was none! The beds were unbelievably comfortable (We actually looked at the brand of pillows and ordered some when we got home!) The views are absolutely stunning and we especially enjoyed sitting on the balcony and watching sheep being moved to a new field. The hot tub was amazing and again small touches like the table for drinks and hooks for towels. A beautiful property and fantastic hosts. Only downside is that we weren’t there for longer. Thank you!

The owner was very helpful. She came over to say hi and asked if we needed anything - which we did, we asked for a sheet for the cot bed, which I thought would have been provided with the cot. The cot didn’t have a mattress, it was a very basic hard base, you could feel the bars through it so our baby couldn’t sleep in it which was a shame. So I would just suggest that the owner purchases a mattress for the cot or you bring your own. The only other negative was that the property is listed as dog friendly ….. however the garden isn’t enclosed - it is open so your dog can get out in the corner - where the owner and a gentleman both walked through the garden while we were there which I was a little surprised at. There is also a shed/building attached to the garden where there are several dogs kept and they will bark every time you go in the garden which obviously if you like dogs you won’t mind but it’s still a little annoying if you are going for peace and quiet…. It also unsettled out dog who is quite nervous. The owner walked the dogs off leash through the garden a few times which I was also a little surprised at as I wouldn’t recommend the property to anyone with nervous or reactive dogs. Other than that, the property has everything you could need. There was nice touches like dvds, books, plenty of toilet roll, towels etc. It was quaint, clean and comfortable. The view was stunning and the garden was great for kids with bbq, climbing frame and trampoline. I think it’s just worth knowing that if you’re taking your dog it’s not enclosed and there are other dogs there and bring your own cot.

Lovely south facing balcony which we were able to sit out on for a while even though it was mid winter. Great hot tub from which you can see both the Malvern Hills and the Bredon Hills. Lawned area for dogs and children plus children's play area. Log burning stove with plenty of logs provided by the extremely welcoming and helpful owner, Sue, who had also supplied a lovely box of Christmas goodies and a bottle or Prosecco!!! Charger for electric cars (though renters should note that the power supply in mid winter 2024 affected the time it took to charge). All in all a fabulous way to spend Christmas with our friends and we want to thank Sue for making it so special.
