A charming and beautifully presented property, Yarn Cottage is the perfect setting from which to discover the delights of the Cotswolds. Located just yards from the High Street of the bustling town of Broadway, referred to by many as 'the jewel of The Cotswolds', it makes an exceptional base all-year-round for your family retreat. Dating back to the 1700s, what was once a row of three terraced cottages, Yarn Cottage has been transformed into a single dwelling (a process continued by the current owners) offering cool and contemporary accommodation. On entering the cottage, visitors are immediately struck by the feeling of light and space; the entrance hall has a large storage area for coats and boots with boutique style artwork and vintage embroideries. A large, sun-filled dining and sitting room runs across the entire length of the cottage, offering somewhere to dine with friends or family, or to simply seek a few moments of rest and relaxation. The lounge/cinema room offers a generous 65” Smart TV so you can curl up and indulge in your favourite Netflix series whilst the snug is darker and offers the ideal spot to kick back and lose yourself in a good book. The ground floor accommodation also provides you with a cloakroom, a beautifully equipped kitchen complete with all mod cons, as well as the most recent addition, a luxurious ground-floor super-king-size bedroom with freestanding slipper bath. Dine together as a group at the dining room, featuring seating for eight guests and a surrounded large mirror with Ivy and fairlights. Take the stairs to the first floor and you will find two further bedrooms, a four-poster super-king-size with en-suite shower room and a super-king-size with zip/link beds, serviced by a family bathroom. Each of the bedrooms features tea and coffee making stations, quality velvet curtains, feather pillows and dormer and fogerty feather down duvets. Outside, enjoy a spot of alfresco dining in the private, enclosed patio at the rear of the cottage. When you get out and about to explore the town, you will immediately be struck by the history that surrounds you; 50 yards from the cottage you will find yourself on the High Street, previously the 'broad way', leading from the foot of the western Cotswolds escarpment with a wide grass-fringed street lined with ancient honey-coloured limestone buildings dating back to the 16th century and earlier, with the oldest house in the area being Abbots Grange built in 1320 as the summer retreat for the Abbots of Pershore, as well as the High Street being rumoured to be one of the longest in England! The High Street itself, with its vast array of historic pubs, cafés and restaurants, as well as quirky, independent shops is reason enough to visit the town. However, if more distractions are required then if you are feeling fit, take the walk up Fish Hill and visit the historic Broadway Tower and take in the stunning scenery. Alternatively if you are not feeling quite so energetic, take the short drive to Snowshill and visit the ancient Manor House. The gorgeous town of Chipping Campden can be found just under six miles from Broadway; frequently voted the prettiest town in England, and if you time it right you may be able to see the ‘Olimpick’ Games, believed to have started in 1612 by Robert Dover, today the games feature such quaint local contests as 'shin-kicking' held each May, where visitors are invited to take part! Yarn Cottage really is the perfect base, for friends and families, to explore this beautiful part of the Cotswolds.
The picturesque Broadway village, also referred to as "The Jewel of the Cotswolds," is tucked away beneath the Worcestershire hills. This classic English village, one of the most stunning in the Cotswolds, not only offers a fantastic selection of distinctive shops and boutiques, galleries, and restaurants, but it also has a rich history reaching back to Roman times. The famed Lygon Arms, which has been a favourite for decades, now offers spa services that can be used on a scheduled basis. Shakespeare's birthplace of Stratford-upon-Avon, Cheltenham Spa, and the historic town of Worcester are all easily accessible from Broadway, making it a fantastic starting point for exploring the Cotswolds and its surroundings. This really is a terrific area for a relaxed vacation, all year long, with a plethora of National Trust properties, museums, scenic hikes, and cycle trails.
