Greenways is a well-placed cottage offering beautiful views and a peaceful setting, ideal for visits to Alton Towers and local walks. Guests appreciate the proximity to pubs and shops, as well as the property's spaciousness and cleanliness. Some concerns were raised about furnishings and maintenance, but the owner's responsiveness to issues is noted.
Mixed feedback on cleanliness; some guests found the property clean with fresh bedding and towels, while others reported dust and the need for additional cleaning upon arrival.
The location is highly praised for its proximity to Alton Towers, local amenities, and scenic views, despite the steep hill and access challenges for larger vehicles.
Comfort is compromised by a lack of furniture and basic amenities in bedrooms and living areas, as well as issues with heating control. However, the property's peacefulness is a plus.
Facilities are adequate with some extras like internet connection, but guests noted a lack of seating, kitchen utensils, and clear instructions for appliances.
There is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the owner, so it is not possible to provide a score in this category.

Fantastic break away for an Alton Towers base as it’s only 2miles from the park. House was very welcoming and set out to our number of people. The Bulls head pub at the end of the road was really great food and also a take away option which was good. The house is at the top of a very steep hill but all good. Would go back for sure.

Beautiful cottage, lovely village, owner and work partner very helpful, a lovely family getaway and fabulous time at Alton Towers. I left a note for the cleaner/s as the only reason I new someone had been was because of clean bedding and towels, dusty, dirty, not impressed that myself and my partner had to do some cleaning (as we do enough of it at work). I would have given 5 stars if it wasn’t for the cleanliness, sorry to Liam (owner)

Great location in village, with pubs and shops on doorstep. Access to lane is right and virtually impossible to come in from Alton Towers direction if you've got a big car. Lovely views from living room, main bedroom and gardens. Garden is a lovely place to sit. Property is spacious and clean.Hpwever, there were a lot of things that would be easy to do to improve that let this property down. It was oddly unfurnished. The main bedroom only had a bed, 2 small bedside cabinets and a row of hooks. No wardrobe or proper clothes storage, no mirror for getting ready. It's a bit room but it felt empty and unfinished. The twin room is the same - it had a fitted wardrobe and sink/vanity clearly a leftover from being a family home at some point. But just 2 beds floating there with no bedside cabinets or lamps. The property sleeps up to 6 with 2 folding beds in addition to the bedrooms, however there wasn't room for our party of 5 to all sit in living room at same time as there's really only seating for 3 (4 at a push of you cosy up on the sofa). This meant we spent the evenings split up, with some of us sitting at the kitchen island to watch tv. There's no coffee tables or lamps, so sitting each evening with the big light on wasn't very relaxing. Each bed has only one pillow each, which is the strangest thing! And I wasn't impressed to find no mattress protector on the double bed - not hygienic at all. There was very little info given on the property other than how to operate the fire and pizza oven. I would have liked as a minimum some info on recycling arrangements. And the last thing - the owners control the heating. The whole boiler was completely switched off when we arrived, and the number given in the booking email got no answer. I eventually found an alternative number under the Wi-Fi password who told us how to switch boiler on, but there's no thermostat and we were far too hot so ended up controlling the radiator temp via the boiler. All in all, a well placed property with great access to alton towers and dog walks. But some simple improvements are needed to make this a better standard of accommodation.
