Resting on the edge of the beautiful country of Shropshire and bordering North Wales is the delightful village of St Martins. Surrounded by luscious countryside and within reach of some of North Wales' most popular attractions as well as the bustling Shropshire town of Oswestry, St Martins is a wonderful base for a country escape. Discover a good selection of amenities within the village, including a local supermarket, an M&S Food, two convenience shops, a takeaway and three pubs, offering all you need for a self-catered stay. The Shropshire Union Canal borders the south of the village and is a great starting point for visitors to the area to begin exploring, with the canal running south towards Ellesmere and north up to Chirk, passing the Chirk Aqueduct and up to Llangollen. The lovely Welsh town of Chirk boasts the medieval, 700-year-old Chirk Castle, owned by the National Trust, you can explore the stately rooms and exquisite gardens, while further north in Wrexham find another National Trust gem in the form of Erddig, am 18th century manor house with tours of the ornate rooms and 12,000-acre grounds!
