Tansy Cottage is highly praised for its cleanliness, comprehensive amenities, and thoughtful touches like maps and books. Guests appreciate the helpful owners and the property's proximity to local pubs and shops. While some mention road noise and limited sunlight in the courtyard, the overall sentiment is positive, with many expressing a desire to return.
Guests consistently describe the cottage as spotlessly clean, indicating a high standard of cleanliness throughout the property.
The location is appreciated for its lovely village setting and convenience for exploring nearby Ludlow and Leominster. Some guests note road noise, but it does not significantly detract from the overall positive feedback.
The cottage is frequently described as comfortable and cosy, with comfortable seating and a warm atmosphere, especially noted during a Christmas stay.
The cottage is well-equipped for self-catering, with private parking being a notable feature. However, the absence of a dishwasher and a small freezer are mentioned, and the electric version of a woodburner may not meet all expectations.
While guests mention thoughtful provisions and a warm welcome, there is no specific mention of gifts, so it is not possible to score this category. However, the owners' attentiveness and the provision of useful items like maps and books suggest a considerate approach to guest comfort.
This characterful cottage, located in the centre of the charming village of Leintwardine, is ideal for couples, friends or a small family looking for a relaxing rural holiday in Shropshire. This homely property is a perfect base for exploring South Shropshire, North Herefordshire and the Welsh Marches. There are walks from your doorstep, including a fairly challenging 6.5-mile circular walk starting and finishing at the pub by the river, which offers magnificent views along the way. Visit historic Ludlow (10 miles) and explore the medieval castle, vibrant cultural scene and superb Tudor architecture.
Step into this beautiful two-storey property through the side porch and into the bright and welcoming conservatory/sitting room: a sunny space overlooking the private garden that offers cosy sofas to unwind, chat, or watch the Smart TV. You can observe the sights and sounds of nature in the garden from the comfort of the inside through the large conservatory windows. A small kitchen sits in the corner of the room, with all the appliances necessary to rustle up a late brunch or hearty evening meal. The dining area is unique, situated in the original part of the cottage and adorned with characterful period features: low ceilings, wooden beams and an impressive fireplace with stunning exposed stonework. There is a downstairs shower room. Upstairs, you''ll find two double bedrooms and, via a step, a small upstairs bathroom. To the rear of the cottage is an enclosed garden with a small lawn and a flagstone patio area with outside seating, perfect for al fresco dining in the summer evenings.
The area is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts. Wander through nearby Mortimer Forest (6 miles), which has several trails for all abilities through different terrain. Step back in time at the 13th-century Stokesay Castle (6 miles) or head 12 miles to the National Trust Croft Castle and Parkland and spend a day exploring the castle and extensive grounds.

Lovely village with great walks from the door. As previously mentioned the road is noisy but didn’t worry us in January with the windows shut! Quick note that there isn’t a woodburner, logs etc as this is now an electric version. There is a tiny freezer and no dishwasher for those this matters to. Comfortable seating and off road parking were welcome. The village has a well provisioned Spar and a butchers plus two pubs.

Had a lovely stay at Tansy Cottage for 5 nights over Christmas. We arrived in the dark to a lovely warm cottage with xmas tree and decorations. The cottage was very well equipped with everything we would need. Very relaxing, quiet xmas for us as it was the first time ever away from home. Good walks (if rather muddy!) from the village and a lovely village local (The Sun Inn). Our 2 dogs loved it also. The village itself has a lot of history going back to Roman times. Thanks Cindy and Holly.
