This characterful barn conversion, next to the owner's home, is the perfect spot for a family getaway and walkers in the rolling hills of North Herefordshire, an area of very low population density and wide open spaces. The outside of the property boasts a parking space along with courtyard area, perfect for dusting off after a long day exploring. Entering the barn, you will be greeted by a cosy living/dining room, showcasing an exposed stone feature wall and up-cycled furniture, adding a touch of charm and character. The living area is the perfect room for family time with TV entertainment and a crackling log burner for those brisk winter's evenings. Moving through into the stone-floored kitchen, you'll find all of the modern fittings and appliances, allowing you to cook delicious meals to fuel your holiday fun. The light and bright bathroom features a bath, shower over, WC and basin. A small set of steps lead you down to the first bedroom, decorated wonderfully and boasting a double bed. Upstairs on the mezzanine level, separated by a curtain, you'll find the second bedroom with twin single beds, perfect for the children. The nearby village of Leintwardine is full of character and boasts an award-winning fish and chip shop (it has just won (Autumn 2019) Chip Shop of the Midlands and reached the top 20 Nationally!) as well as a pub next to the quaint river and a handy general store. Lovers of the outdoors can take advantage of the luscious Shropshire Hills AONB right on their doorstep, offering outdoor opportunities aplenty. The location of Leintwardine and the barn, is ideally situated to take advantage of being able to get ‘out and about’ without the need to socialise if so desired. Walking for 10 miles and hardly meeting anyone is likely. A number of quaint little towns and villages offer characterful inns and delightful little cafés to stop and catch your breath in. Castles within 15-20 min drive include: Ludlow, Clun, Wigmore, Hopton, Stokesay & Croft. Powys castle is about an hour away, as are the Roman settlements of Wroxeter & Chester. Neolithic sites and significant hill fortifications within 30 min drive include: Croft Ambrey, Bury Hill Ditches, Wapley Hill Fort & Mitchell's Fold stone circle. Museums within 45 min drive include: Blists Hill & Ironbridge (home of the Industrial Revolution) -there are 7 museums in total, Black Country Living Museum, Ludlow museum (small), The Mappa Mundi in Hereford Cathedral (thought to be the first ever map of the world). The Museum of Ironworks near Shrewsbury, Acton Scott working Victorian Farm near Church Stretton. Reformation sites worth a look include: Llanthony Priory near to Hay-on-Wye, Tintern Abbey & Buildwas Abbey. Stately Homes with Gardens within 30 min drive - Berrington Court, Hampton Court near Leominster not London, Attingham. Lakes and Reservoirs within 80-90 min drive - Elan Valley, Lake Vyrnwy & Lake Balla - all great for walking. There is the Black & White village trail of Herefordshire taking in 5-6 villages all with amazing Tudor houses, common in the region. Towns / villages worth visiting include: Pembridge, Ludlow, Leominster, Bridgnorth and The Severn Valley Steam Railway, Shrewsbury including The Darwin Trail, Much Wenlock with The Olympic Trail and so on.

The Roman village of Leintwardine, which is mentioned in the Doomsday Book, lies in beautiful Herefordshire cout Office and the area offers visitors many lovely walks in all directionntryside, close to the Shropshire border and boasts a Grade II listed parlour pub which serves a large selection of real ales. The area offers visitors many lovely walks in all directions including the Herefordshire Trail which runs through the village, and also nearby is the Shropshire Way. Close by is the pretty village of Bucknell which nestles on the banks of the River Redlake and lies within the Shropshire Hills - an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, offering a pub, butcher and general store. The historic medieval market town of Ludlow is situated on the River Teme, amongst the outstanding countryside of the Welsh Marches. With more than 500 listed buildings, Ludlow’s medieval street pattern remains almost intact and provides a fascinating backdrop for the town’s regular street markets, held in the shadow of the castle and showcasing a range of goods - from cheeses and fresh produce to books and local crafts. Ludlow is renowned for its shopping, with a number of antique and art and craft shops, along with a Michelin-starred restaurant and numerous tea shops, pubs and inns. Ludlow Castle is over 900-years old and contains fascinating examples of architecture while below, the Millennium Green offers a large public riverside green and the popular Green Cafe. Ludlow plays host to many food and drink festivals in spring and autumn, as well as the Medieval Christmas Festival and Shakespeare and Arts festivals in the summer. The World Heritage Site of Ironbridge Gorge, Severn Valley Railway, Berrington Hall and Cardingmill Valley are all within easy reach and make a memorable day out for all the family. A wonderful holiday destination in a beautiful part of the country.
