Many of Shropshire's main attractions are within easy driving distance such as Church Stretton - known as 'Little Switzerland' to the locals - which offers a selection of antique shops and tea rooms and is surrounded by the beautiful Long Mynd Hills. The Acton Scott Historic Working Farm and the Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre are also worth visiting, as is the Ironbridge World Heritage Site and the medieval towns of Shrewsbury and Ludlow - the latter of which boasts four Michelin starred restaurants. Easy to get to and directions/instructions very useful. Less good points: Not a lot of kitchen utensils for 6 people. Parking was very difficult, other cars had parked in the space allocated to our cottage (likely because it isnât clearly labelled in the car park) making parking very difficult.

Kids loved it. Very comfortable. Owners had a homemade lemon drizzle cake, chocolate and a bottle of wine waiting for us on our arrival. Not a lot around the cottage but if youâre willing to drive 30-50mins to destinations thereâs amazing places around. Two which we would highly recommend are the Shropshire sculpture park and carding mill valley ( perfect for a walk and to dip feet in the reservoir)
