About this property

Bell House Cottage is an old meal house located on a smallholding between the villages of Wistanstow and Bushmoor in an area of outstanding natural beauty in the South Shropshire hills. It’s a lovely little hideaway for couples looking to slow things down, enjoy stunning views and a more peaceful pace of life. Step inside to discover the living/dining room, where a woodburning stove takes centre stage, just the thing for relaxed evenings after a day out exploring. The living room's French doors open out onto a patio to offer a quiet area to sit out and enjoy the fresh country air.

There are exposed oak beams throughout the cottage. From the living room, head through to the kitchen with its Belfast sink, which is neatly equipped with the essentials needed to prepare meals during your stay. The property features oak stairs takes you to a double bedroom with its own seating area and open deck veranda with lovely views of the countryside. The bathroom includes a roll-top bath, walk-in shower, basin and WC, ideal whether you fancy a quick freshen up or a long soak at the end of the day. From Bell House Cottage, the nearby town of Church Stretton is well worth a visit, known for its walking routes and relaxed charm, while the historic market town of Ludlow offers a great mix of independent shops, eateries and characterful streets.

Outdoor enthusiasts can head to Carding Mill Valley for scenic walks, explore the wider Shropshire Hills AONB, or take in a bit of history at Ludlow Castle. With its rustic charm and access to some of Shropshire’s best spots, Bell House Cottage makes a great base for a relaxed countryside break

The small market town of Craven Arms, known as The Gateway to the Marches is conveniently located between the beautiful medieval town of Ludlow and delightful Church Stretton. Craven Arms is an ideal base, which nestles close to the scenic Wenlock Edge and Corvedale Valley with fine walks from the town to lovely Stokesay Castle, one of England's finest fortified manor houses, or the very popular Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre. The town also has some charming and historic houses, including a round house, thought to be a recognisable rest house for pilgrims travelling between Wigmore and Shrewsbury Abbeys and the fascinating 'Museum of Lost Content'. Church Stretton is close by and nestles between the Long Mynd and Caradoc Hills, renowned for their scenic walks and excellent golf course. The historic towns of Bishop's Castle, Ludlow and Shrewsbury are a short drive away, and offer magnificent castles, riverside walks, wonderful shops, pubs, restaurants, exciting theatres and a variety of festivals. This is a perfect base for touring all of beautiful Shropshire at any time of the year.
