The Byre is a well-received cottage offering a comfortable and peaceful stay. Guests appreciate its cleanliness, cosy atmosphere, and rural charm. The property is praised for its well-equipped nature and the thoughtful touches provided. While access via potholed roads is noted, the scenic location and proximity to local attractions are highlights for many visitors.

Reviews consistently mention high standards of cleanliness, with the property being described as very clean and tidy. There are no significant complaints about cleanliness, indicating that guests are generally satisfied in this aspect.

The location is appreciated for its quiet, rural setting and scenic views, although several guests have mentioned issues with potholes on the access roads. The remoteness and proximity to local attractions are seen as positive by many, but the road conditions have affected the score.

Guests find the cottage comfortable, with a warm and snug atmosphere, and a comfortable bed and sofa. However, a few guests have noted that some furniture, particularly the settee, could be more comfortable, slightly impacting the score.

The Byre is generally well-equipped, with guests appreciating the provided books, games, and secure parking. Some guests encountered issues with maintenance, such as low shower pressure and difficulty with doors, which suggests room for improvement in this category.

While guests mention a friendly welcome and little extras that made their stay homely, there are no specific references to gifts. Therefore, it is not possible to accurately score thoughtfulness based on gifts, and the score is set to null.

About this property

A charming, 18th century detached barn conversion, featuring a wealth of oak beams, trusses and wall timbers. The property has a light and airy yet cosy atmosphere, offering all modern facilities. Perfect for a romantic break for two.

The small village of Billingsley is surrounded by beautiful Shropshire countryside and is just seven miles from Bridgnorth. In addition to lots of walking and cycling facilities, the region boasts a wealth of country parks, great houses, museums and picturesque villages. Visitors can enjoy a trip to the nearby town of Bridgnorth - winner of ‘Britain in Bloom' - which is composed of the High Town and the Low Town connected by winding streets and flights of steps. The town's Saturday street market provides an excellent chance to explore the impressive castle ruins or to take a ride on the funicular railway. This passes what Charles I called 'the finest view in all my kingdom'. With easy access to The Royal Air Force Museum, Ironbridge Gorge, and the towns of Shrewsbury and Ludlow, this is an ideal base for an enjoyable break.

The facilities are good with good shower, comfortable double bed, large satellite tv etc. The lane accessing the property (Bind lane) is a bit ropey with plenty of divots and also does not have a road sign but the surrounding countryside is lovely and very scenic.

Very relaxing, lovely touches such as coffee & tea left for you & a jug of milk just what you need after a long journey.

We feel this should be noted on the website. Some plates had cracked glazing, some pans and some utensils were worn out and unfit for use.
