Situated on the side of the Long Mynd, this luxury self catering rental enjoys stunning views over the surrounding hills.
The Oaks has been refurbished to a high standard and offers contemporary, spacious and light accommodation. The garden is approximately two acres and is surrounded by post and rail fencing and hedges. Two large, sunny stone patios with teak furniture face west and south with delightful views over Shropshire's Caradoc and Lawley Hills.
Additional Information:
Two well-behaved dogs welcome (small additional charge), however we do ask that your dogs are restricted to the main hallway, utility room, kitchen and dining room. Thank you for your co-operation. Please be aware, dogs must be kept on leads whilst walking The Long Mynd. This is National Trust land where sheep roam freely.
Two travel cots and one highchair available on request.
To hire a hot tub for your stay, please contact Martin at the Shrewsbury Hot Tub company on 07989 036708. We kindly ask guests to bringing their own beach towels when hiring the hot tub.

The AGA runs all year at the Oaks. During exceptional hot summer spells (which are difficult to predict more than a couple of days in advance!) the kitchen can feel uncomfortably hot during the day. The best way to deal with this is to open doors and windows to give a cross flow of air. The house is situated on an open hill side and even on summer evenings the AGA can give a pleasant background warmth.
Whilst the house has a Neff electric hob, double oven and microwave, the AGA gives increased cooking capacity and a 'special cooking' experience. Therefore the AGA will be alight when you arrive at the Oaks unless you advise us otherwise.

The Oaks was booked for a family 80th birthday celebration. Parents/daughters/son in laws and 4 teenage grandchildren. The description promised much and delivered on everything. A real home from home, comfortably furnished with everything provided. The wet/windy weather meant we couldnât take full advantage of the beautiful surroundings or use the outside amenities enough. Fit walkers could take good strolls on the immediate steep surroundings among the sheep & goats. Very good pub meals at The Pound Inn and The Green Dragon. Church Stretton provided an amble amongst unusual shops and antique stores. A weekend wasnât really long enough.

I used this venue to host 6 ladies for a healing retreat and it was perfect for our needs. My guests loved the garden and the beautiful presentation of the house. The games room was perfect for our indoor meditations and group work. I would definitely return.

Fantastic, well equipped, homely and spacious house with great outdoor space and views. Suited our large family gathering. The house was spotlessly clean when we arrived. Great location with beautiful walks on the doorstep. Only slight negative for us (which did not detract from our enjoyment of the holiday) was the shower in the master bedroom was not working due to a leak prior to our arrival - the owner did let us know this on the day of our arrival. The owner, via rural retreats, organised for a parasol to be delivered when we asked if the property had one. This was much appreciated during the hottest week of the year!
