Located just four miles away in the unspoiled English countryside to the east of Hereford, the historic market town of Ledbury dates back to 960 AD and lies beneath the Malvern Hills. Located on the Leadon River, the town of Ledbury is well-known for its many historic timbered structures, such as the 16th-century Market House and the 16th-century murals in The Painted Room. The town and its environs play host to a plethora of annual music, art, and food and drink events. Every once in a while, the town hosts festivals celebrating various artistic mediums, literary works, culinary creations, and alcoholic beverages. Eastnor Park is close by, and the nearby Eastnor Castle is a wonderful example of a mock-medieval castle from the 19th century. The city of Hereford, home to a cathedral built in the 11th century and the famed Mappa Mundi and Chained Library, is not far away. Malvern welcomes visitors with various scenic hill walks, a high-end spa, and the Morgan Motor Company for auto aficionados. There are various outdoor activities to choose from in the picturesque Forest of Dean and Wye Valley, and guests can also enjoy the local vineyards, travel along the Elgar Route, and see the Black and White villages.
