Oil central heating, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Initial logs for wood burner included, remainder available at £10 per basket (paid directly to the owner). Cot and highchair. Enclosed garden with garden furniture. 30-acres of shared land. Private parking for 3 cars. No smoking. Please note: There are 5 ponds in the shared land.. In a peaceful location only 1½ miles from Kington, with lovely views over the Welsh border, these detached properties have an enclosed garden and access to 30 acres of land with ponds, where you can enjoy walking and picnics. There is excellent walking on lanes and footpaths with direct access to Offa’s Dyke at Hergest Ridge. Much of Herefordshire and the border areas are easily reached, whilst the coast at Aberystwyth is about 60 miles. Leominster is 15 miles, and Hay-on-Wye, also 15 miles, is convenient for the Hay Festival, whilst Ludlow, Bromyard and Hereford are about 20 miles. Visit Weobley where the heart-wrenching film of Hamnet was filmed, it picked up the best drama award at the Golden Globes, and is now tipped to walk away with an Oscar later on this year, this idyllic village has appeared in several publications, even before it opened in the UK cinemas, and is a must visit destination. Other attractions well worth a visit include Hergest Croft Gardens, Westonbury Mill Water Gardens, Kinnersley Castle, Hereford Cathedral with its chained library and Mappa Mundi centre, and the Black and White Village Trail at Ledbury. The Hay Festival is held on 26th May - 5th June 2022. There is golf available nearby, and an owl and small breeds farm less than a mile away, as well as a red kite feeding station nearby. River fishing is also available at Letton Court. Shops, pubs and restaurants 1½ miles.

    If you love the scenic Welsh borders and are looking for clean, comfortable, quiet accommodation with proximity to excellent food shopping (Kington) then I can't recommend Mavis Cottage enough!

    We found the property to be cosy and spotless.It was lovely sitting outside with views over towards Hergest Ridge.It was conveniently situated for the black & white trail.The owner was welcoming & available if required.

    Mavis cottage was in a picturesque Position amid green valley and hills. It was comfy with plenty of seating etc. The only downside was the fact Bathroom was downstairs so if stairs are difficult for you not a very good place to stay.
