Guests say

Stable Cottage is a charming, spacious and beautifully furnished country retreat, featuring a delightful walled garden and a peaceful atmosphere. Guests praise its cleanliness, comfort, and character, with antique furnishings and modern conveniences. The location offers easy access to Hereford, Ross-on-Wye, and scenic countryside, though a car is recommended. Some guests noted minor issues with directions, supplies such as logs and toilet paper, and occasional maintenance needs, but overall, the cottage provides a relaxing and memorable stay.

Multiple guests commented on the cottage being spotless and tidy, with no significant complaints about cleanliness. This consistent positive feedback supports a high score.

The cottage is praised for its quiet, rural setting and proximity to Hereford and Ross-on-Wye. However, some guests noted the need for a car and occasional difficulty with directions, slightly lowering the score.

Guests found the beds very comfortable and appreciated the spaciousness and homely feel. Some mentioned warm duvets and peaceful surroundings, though one guest noted road noise and another found the duvets too warm.

The cottage is well-equipped with quality kitchenware and modern conveniences, but several guests mentioned missing items such as logs for the fire, toilet paper, and dish cloths. There were also minor issues with the TV and a brief power cut.

While the cottage is described as welcoming and comfortable, some guests felt the lack of basic supplies (logs, toilet paper) detracted from the experience. No gifts or special touches were mentioned, so the score reflects the mixed feedback on attention to guest needs.

Spacious cottage with lovely antique furniture and enormous but neglected ‘secret’ walled garden - a great discovery through an archway! Well-equipped kitchen with quality crockery, but could do with a sort-out of large number of surplus bowls, vases, cutlery and oddments. Couldn’t find a vegetable steamer, and there was a very brief power-cut so some candles would be useful. Agree with others that they are mean with loo rolls, but good to have two toilets and a warm bathroom with bath and separate shower. As a light sleeper, the busy A49 Ross to Hereford Road woke me up so slept with window shut and radiator off to keep cool - could do with lighter duvets as they were too warm for me, although partner was happy in his room. Great to have two double beds, as we sleep separately and he often ends up in a twin room and a single bed!A49 is very busy and not a lot nearby, one hotel/pub up the road which we didn’t visit - we tended to do lots of driving - Hereford, Monmouth, Black Mountain, Croft Castle, Raglan Castle - and cook in the evening. TV was incredibly difficult to operate, but there were simpler televisions in both bedrooms.

The cottage is full of charm with a garden to relax in the spring sunshine.Clean and tidy. There are many pretty villages close by.The local shop stocks all you need but you will need a car to get there. Will definitely book again.

This is a charming cottage with all the comforts you would expect - except the owner does not provide toilet paper so make sure you bring some! Also no logs for the log burner. It is very comfortable and furnished with lovely old pieces. It is close to Hereford and Ross which are good for days out and there are nice walks nearby. The directions how to find the cottage are technically correct but you have to follow the Church wall all round the church the lane looks like a separate left turn so it's easy to miss especially if you arrive after dark. The contact phone number on the booking information did not work (owner lives abroad and phone is switched off). There is a contact number for the cleaner but only on the info inside the cottage so no good if you can't get in. It would have been good to have this on the booking confirmation.
