Guests say

Merryview Bungalow is a charming, peaceful rural retreat with stunning countryside views and a spacious garden, ideal for families and pet owners. Guests consistently praise its cleanliness, well-equipped kitchen, and tranquil setting. The property’s retro character and documented history add to its appeal. While most found it comfortable and relaxing, a few mentioned dated furnishings and occasional maintenance issues, particularly with the boiler. The location is secluded yet conveniently close to local towns and amenities. Overall, guests enjoyed a homely, relaxing stay and many expressed a desire to return.

The majority of reviews highlight the property as spotlessly clean and tidy on arrival. Only one review mentioned a negative experience with staff, but overall, cleanliness is a consistent positive.

Guests repeatedly praise the peaceful, rural location with beautiful views and easy access to local towns. The setting is described as quiet, secluded, and perfect for relaxation.

Most guests found the bungalow cosy, homely, and comfortable, with ample space and a large garden. However, some noted dated furnishings, uncomfortable mattresses, and issues with heating during boiler breakdowns.

The bungalow is described as very well equipped, with everything needed for a longer stay. Some maintenance issues, particularly with the boiler, were noted, but alternative heating was provided and most guests felt well accommodated.

Guests appreciated the owner's responsiveness and efforts to address issues, as well as thoughtful touches like detailed property history and re-wilded gardens. While some reviews mention helpful hosts, there is no mention of gifts, so these cannot be guaranteed.

A bungalow with wonderful 1950's charm. Quiet, comfortable, and great value. Seems underpriced but can't complain . Very clean and every facility that one could require. Love the fact that the owner is 're-wilding' the borders etc. Only a short drive/medium walk to a local pub -The Fountain.(but closed Mon,Tues,Wed). I will definately be rebooking this lovely bungalow. Just superb-especially the history of the property which is evident within the building.
