Guests consistently mention the well-equipped kitchen, luxurious bathroom, and cosy atmosphere, making it ideal for a relaxing getaway. The welcome hampers and thoughtful touches are frequently appreciated, though not guaranteed. Minor issues such as occasional noise from wildlife, garden fencing for dogs, and access via narrow lanes are noted but do not detract from the overwhelmingly positive experience. The property is especially popular with dog owners and those seeking tranquillity and scenic walks.

Cleanliness is repeatedly highlighted, with guests describing the property as spotless, immaculate, and very well maintained. Only rare minor comments (e.g., barbecue cleanliness, bird droppings at entrance) are mentioned, but these are exceptions.

The rural, peaceful location with beautiful views and abundant wildlife is a major highlight. Guests love the proximity to walks and local attractions. Some mention the narrow approach roads as a challenge, but this does not significantly impact the overall positive impression.

Guests find the barn extremely comfortable, with cosy furnishings, a luxurious bathroom, and a welcoming atmosphere. Occasional comments about noise from wildlife and duvet weight are minor and do not detract from the overall comfort.

The property is described as very well equipped, especially the kitchen and bathroom. Some guests mention a lack of washing machine for longer stays and minor maintenance points (e.g., first aid kit, garden fencing for dogs), but overall facilities are highly rated.

Guests frequently praise the generous and high-quality welcome hampers and thoughtful touches such as flowers and fruit. Please note that these gifts are not guaranteed for every stay.

An attractively styled home in a peaceful setting, with a well-equipped kitchen and exceptionally large bath- (and shower-) room, with lashings of hot water. We were a bit disappointed in the very simple garden space, just a lawn, and table with two chairs,; no garden looks good in the drought, but this was bleaker than it need be. And we didn't enjoy any of the approach roads: three or so miles of very narrow, high-banked lanes, and lots of potholes - whichever direction you're coming in from; and none of them are easy to walk along.

Beautiful barn. Immaculate and comfortable. Furnished beautifully, welcome hamper great. Fridge stocked to get you through first night if necessary but we always come prepared. Lovely quiet surroundings, everything you need for a quiet getaway. Our 3rd time staying on the Downton Estate.

What a beautiful, comfortable & perfect holiday cottage in every way! Everything has been done to a high standard. The bathroom is gorgeous as it’s so big & beautifully decorated. We both slept so well with such tranquil surroundings. Basil the dog thought he was in heaven with all the pheasants to chase! Would love to return. Oh and the best ever welcome treats. Thank you.
