About this property

Kitchen Garden Cottage is a honey coloured stone cottage on the edge of the quiet quintessential and unspoilt Cotswold village of Barton-on-the-Heath, and has stunning views over rolling countryside and walks from the door.

Dating back to the 1850s, this beautiful detached cottage has been restored with attention to detail, stylish furniture and interiors. Situated in the grounds of the Old Rectory with its own private driveway, the cottage boasts a generous open-plan living space on the ground floor with a large sofa and cosy wood burning stove. The fully equipped kitchen has a cookery book library to inspire foodies before visiting some of the local farm shops and producers in the local area. Both bedrooms are generous in size and the family bathroom has a stunning roll top bath to languish in under the eaves, as well as a separate shower. The property also benefits from a ground floor utility/shower room with underfloor heating.

There is a private enclosed garden to the side of the cottage with vintage garden furniture and a barbecue where you can enjoy the views across the surrounding countryside. The perfect country retreat for couples and families looking to explore the small towns and villages of the Cotswolds. Within 10-15 mins drive are shops, cafes and restaurants in Chipping Norton, Moreton-in-Marsh, Stow-on-the-Wold and Shipston-on-Stour.

The owners live nearby, and with arrangement you can collect fresh eggs from their chickens, or use the tennis court. Daylesford Organic Farm Shop, Bamford Spa, The Wild Rabbit, Bower House Hotel, Old Butchers’ Restaurant and Soho Farmhouse are all within a short drive, as are Hidcote and Chastleton House and gardens.
