Nestling in Fortuneswell, near the causeway between Weymouth and Portland, and separating the stunning Chesil Beach and Portland Harbour, this three-storey, terraced character cottage, for four, makes an excellent location to explore this wonderful part of Dorset. Portland itself has some stunning scenery, Portland Castle, museums, great coastal walks and, not to be missed, Portland Bill with superb views. Within easy driving are many watersports, such as fishing, boating, swimming, yachting, canoeing and wind surfing. Weymouth is on your doorstep and has a wonderful sandy beach, many seaside attractions including Jurassic Skyline, Nothe Fort and two nature reserves at Radipole and Lodmoor. Further afield, explore the famous scenic World Heritage Jurassic Coast, Lulworth Cove and perhaps down to Lyme Regis taking in Abbotsbury Swannery and Tropical Gardens, or inland to the Bovington Tank Museum and Monkey World. This cottage really did exceed our expectations. It was warm, cosy and spotlessly clean. The owners provided all the extras you could possibly need during your stay, which in our experience, isn’t always the case. Our stay took in the Christmas period and the festive decorations were a nice touch. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay at Samphire Cottage, it was very clean when we arrived and a lovely welcome hamper full of Dorset goodies was left for us to enjoy. There was every cleaning product, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets and various cloths available which was great. The location is great for visiting local places like Portland Bill, Weymouth, etc, however, as advised we took our smaller car as the road gets very busy, so we had to drive on the pavement to pass the parked cars and our bigger car would not have fit in the drive.

A lovely clean and comfortable cottage !! Everything you could want on holiday !! Wonderful bathroom !! Warm house !! Extremely clean !!! Comfy beds !! A really lovely welcome pack !!! Parking for one car !!! will be staying there again next year !!!
