Formerly a school assembly room, this unique home has been beautifully extended by the architect and designer owners. The spacious hallway offers plenty of storage, and the cloakroom decorated with 1960’s Vogue covers sets the tone of this creative property.
The open living room window allows the summer sun to stream in, while underfloor heating keeps the large area cosy in the cooler months. The streamlined, fully equipped kitchen features an island with breakfast bar, though there is an additional dining area with table and seating for six. A large, comfortable corner sofa and chairs are tucked beside the wood burning stove, all looking out toward the pretty garden. The owners have created a clutter-free, designer space and have therefore not included a television, instead opting to provide board games and books for all to enjoy. There is a good Wi-Fi connection for those wishing to watch a film. But with so much on offer in the immediate area, and a beautiful house to enjoy, you are unlikely to want to waste time watching television or films!
A hallway with books and further storage leads to the family bathroom with bath and separate waterfall shower. Further along the hallway is the king-sized master bedroom and a twin bedroom, both offering wardrobes, bedside tables, and drawers. Each bedroom has french doors leading directly into the garden.
This picture-perfect property is within walking distance of one of Suffolk’s most beautiful, sandy, beaches, Covehithe. And only a lovely 15-minute drive to Southwold and Walberswick. The Five Bells, and Horse and Groom pubs are just a two minute walk away, as is the Black dog Deli, serving great coffee and locally produced artisan bread and goodies for brunch and lunch.

We enjoyed a fabulous family holiday in the Old School Room, it is the perfect base to enjoy Suffolk. It is a spacious and stylish, well-designed house with plenty of quirky features, personality, and attention to detail.

A stones throw from our favourite beach at Cove Hithe. Southwold is a short distance by car. Several pubs nearby with good food and the Chinese in Wrentham was an excellent take-away treat. Plenty of space to store bicycles and parking very convenient too.

The old school room in Wrentham is a beautiful holiday home that combines old and new, high rooms and cosy spaces. I really can't imagine a nicer place to stay. It's in a great location, a walk or a cycle ride to the beautiful and secluded Covehithe Beach and close to Southwold too. We cycle everywhere and explore the surrounding country lanes, the local pubs as well as trips to Southwold for the buzz of a vibrant seaside town. Highly recommend it. Five stars!
