Within a short walk of the cottage is the delightful seaside town of Southwold which has a beach, a great range of shops and amenities and a selection of iconic brightly coloured beach huts, so is well worth a day out. Close by are the delightful towns of Aldeburgh, Thorpeness and Walberswick which are all picture postcard attractive and should definitely be on the must-visit list. Family attractions to pay a visit to include Framlingham Castle, Sutton Hoo, RSPB Minsmere, Somerleyton Hall and Africa Alive Zoological Reserve. If you like a tipple then take a tour of places such as Adnams Brewery, Shawsgate Vineyard and the English Whiskey Company or head out for a hike or cycle ride anywhere in the Suffolk Coast and Heaths which has been designated as an Area of Natural Outstanding Beauty, so will be rewarded with some great photo opportunities on the way. Southwold is a seaside town situated along the East Suffolk coast within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and resting between Lowestoft and Ipswich. Southwold is known as the home of Adnams Brewery which was established in the town in 1872 and it also has its own lighthouse, a museum and a picturesque pier which has a selection of colourful beach huts and which plays host to the regular Southwold Model Yacht regatta. The town boasts a number of excellent restaurants and eateries with a particular nod to its seaside location so there is always plenty of seafood and fish on the menu. Southwold has some fantastic independent shops, boutiques, galleries and pubs which are great for a browse and to stock up on essentials for your holiday. Just outside Southwold there are a number of great attractions for the whole family including Africa Alive Zoological Reserve, rspb Minsmere and Dunwich Museum as well as scenic towns such as Aldeburgh, Thorpeness, Leiston and Lowestoft to visit.
