The town has some excellent independent shops, cafes and restaurants, be sure to call in for a pint of the acclaimed Adnams beer in one of the popular pubs. .

This was our first stay in Southwold and indeed The Old Bakery. We were there at the beginning of December and the cottage was very welcoming and lovely and warm which is just what you want from accommodation at that time of the year. The Old Bakery is very well equipped and only a short stroll to the sea front and also the heart of Southwold. So many independent shops, lovely choice of restaurants and drinking places. We particularly enjoyed the Lord Nelson pub, used by locals and visitors alike and it always had a lovely atmosphere, we also greatly enjoyed the bar in The Swan too. We would have no hesitation in returning to stay at The Old Bakery. Definitely a cottage let that we would recommend.
