Take a gentle stroll along the promenade to Walberswick (1.5 miles) – you could even take the ferry across the river – and enjoy a drink at a tea shops or pub before heading back into Southwold for a delicious meal at one of the many popular restaurants in town.

Enjoy uninterrupted sea views from the lounge which has a charming beach hut feel; spend some quality time with your guests over a choice of games that the owners have thoughtfully provided. Make sure you take a walk down to the pier (0.5 miles) where the Under the Pier Attraction is home to some rather unusual arcade games! Children will love it there and in the more traditional arcade at the entrance to the pier. The glorious beach, less than 100 metres from your front door, is perfect for sandcastles. Heading out of town, RSPB Minsmere (11.5 miles) offers the chance to see a variety of sea birds around the coastal lagoons or maybe even otters around the reedbed pools. Somerleyton (17.5 miles) and Framlingham Castle (20.5 miles) are both worth a trip for a bit of history and a walk around the grounds.
