Sleeping just two guests, the former fisherman’s cottage is in an enviable position at the top of the high street, close to restaurants, shops and galleries. It is a 500-metre stroll from the promenade and beach and enjoys access to a shared courtyard. Happy to welcome dogs too, the one-bedroom abode also makes a superb base for those eager to head out on countryside or coastal walks.

Step in from the street and make yourselves immediately at home. The lounge/diner, where you can unwind after your excursions and snuggle up in front of a good film on TV, is also the perfect place for your candle-lit dinners for two. The compact kitchen, which has both an Aga and a normal oven, has everything you need to help you prepare your feasts with the fresh delicacies you have bought in town. At the end of each eventful day, climb the steep, cottage-style stairs up to the first floor to lay your head in the comfortable double bedroom. There is also a family bathroom up here where you can soak in a long, hot bubble bath. Take the air out in the shared courtyard or wander 300 metres to Southwold Common.
