The people slept on the sofa. Nice warm house with plenty of hot water. Garden needs urgent attention, plaving slabs outside back door slippery. Shrubs need pruning to give more light.

We had a lovely few days exploring the area. The cottage was well equipped, with a really generous welcome pack. We will happily come back.

It was warm and cosy when we got there and spotlessly clean. Lovely big fridge and freezer. And loads of things provided that Sykes didnât know, and we couldnât ask directly of the owner so ended up bringing coffee, tea, salt, pepper, dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid, cleaning cloths etc when it was all, very helpfully, provided. The garden is secure enough for the dogs to walk around as long as someone stays with them. Beautiful views and the goats are just gorgeous. And of course, Percy the peacock deserves his own separate write up! The only 2 niggles were the double bed upstairs, thin mattress on a VERY hard base. All other beds good though. And no instructions on how to work the oven or kettle. The kettle we worked out but the oven was really hit and miss. Thankfully my brother had come across similar and knew the magic touch. Other than that, I would definitely stay here again. Sykes communication was quite good from start to finish, good instructions etc and then the owner himself text me on the day with more detailed instructions and was super helpful in leaving the door unlocked so we didnât struggle in the dark. Really thoughtful. Plus the most beautiful Christmas tree with lights and a lovely cake, mince pies and milk and Prosecco were also left which was a really lovely touch and gratefully received.
