Tucked away in the rural village of Westhall on Valley Farm, rests this traditional, single-storey cottage, The Falconry Mews. This delightful barn conversion is settled in the heart of the Suffolk countryside, so why not treat your other half to a romantic retreat? Leave your vehicle in an off-road parking spot and discover the front garden area, where you can enjoy a cup of tea in the morning sunshine. Step into the colourful open-plan living space, here you can rustle up heart-warming meals in the kitchen area, courtesy of the gas cooker, and dine together at the oak table. Unwind on the sofa to flicker through the Smart TV with Sky or snuggle up with a hot chocolate to escape into a book. When eyes grow heavy, retire to the double bedroom, with a feature wall and furniture to keep your holiday clothes neat. Awaken with a refreshing rinse in your en-suite bathroom or rest your muscles in the tub before getting ready for an exciting day ahead. Head to Halesworth for a selection of eateries, as well as Halesworth and District Museum to unveil the past and a superb golf course to test your swing. Jump in the car and visit the charming seaside town of Southwold, where you can bask in the sun on The Denes Beach, stroll along the pier for excellent shops or embark on a mystery trail! Why not spend the day in the bustling city of Norwich, certain to entice history buffs with its medieval cathedral and Normal Castle, or if that's not for you tour the Whitlingham Country Park? For a much-needed escape to the countryside of Suffolk, secure The Falconry Mews.
Halesworth, a charming Suffolk market town with old buildings, a weekly market on Wednesdays, and a range of mostly independent businesses, cafes, and restaurants, is full of character. Really, really restful. Superb bed: overslept every day! Excellent base to explore the area, local shops well stocked and plenty of artisan goods as well as mainstream. Property was "quirky" (someone else's description in the feedback book; fits the bill). Some modern aspects, some dating back to the 1400's! All equipment needed was there, everything worked (we had a plumbing problem when we arrived; plumber turned up within 20mins and was sorted - wish we had that kind of service at home!). Fresh flowers in our own little courtyard. Good base and comfortable if the weather was inclement.
