This deluxe designer retreat is available to adults travelling together or older families. It is absolutely gorgeous with waterway views from every single window. Woodbridge Granary is located right on the waterside, opposite the Woodbridge Tide Mill. River locations do not get much better than this! Woodbridge offers much charm with excellent art galleries, cosy cafes and wonderful restaurants as well as traditional, colourful fishing boats bobbing in the water. The historic Sutton Hoo sits visible on the horizon though you will be thoroughly mesmerised by the water activity on the pretty River Deben.

Woodbridge Granary is built in traditional whiteboard in the same style as the town’s Tide Mill. Inside, interior designers have waved their magic making it a cool, elegant, luxurious space where original brick walls provide a striking contrast to the varying shades of white on the walls and painted floor boards. There are ultra-modern touches such as the black plug sockets and black radiatiors. This light and airy, waterside gem is furnished in cool grey tones with colour pop blue cushions adorning the sumptuous sofas. A mixture of traditional and contemporary art decorates the walls, all hand-picked and beautiful. The wonderful open plan living space is located on the first floor where you can enjoy the stunning river views. The dazzling white kitchen is just off the main living space and offers exceptional appliances so that you can prepare a feast, perhaps with the fresh catch of the day. You can dine inside or outside with a view on your private patio.

One of the luxury bedrooms is on the ground floor with gorgeous exposed brick walls and delicate shades of white. Luxury linens adorn the super king bed, offering superb comfort. The en-suite bathroom boasts quality fittings with a bath to soak and count your blessings and a shower overhead. Thick, fluffy dressing gowns and towels complete the picture. The second bedroom suite is found on the second floor where it enjoys an oak super king bed and an immaculate shower room with a walk-in shower. Again, you will enjoy the sleep of kings!

Woodbridge Granary is truly luxurious with wonderful touches like the Sonos sound system so that you can relax to your favourite soundtracks while enjoying the fabulous vistas. You will certainly be watching the River Deben for hours as it ebbs and flows with the tide and as the fishing boats and yachts bob and sway in the sea breeze. It is utterly enchanting!

Woodbridge is known as the ‘gem’ in Suffolk’s crown and has been named as the best place to live in the East of England! The beautiful and vibrant market town on the banks of the River Deben offers excellent shopping, superb pubs and wonderful restaurants as well as numerous activities indoors and outdoors. On the edge of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Woodbridge is an excellent base to explore the Suffolk countryside and visit the stunning Suffolk Heritage Coast. It is situated roughly 8 miles from the sea and is close to some major archaeological sites of the Anglo-Saxon period, including the Sutton Hoo burial ship. The town’s tide mill is a very successful tourist attraction. It was one of the first tide mills in the country and unquestionably the last working one, operating for well over 800 years. The mill has a fascinating history. The earliest record of a tide mill is in 1170 when it was owned by the Augustinian Priors until Henry viii confiscated it. In 1793, the present mill was built in the site of the earlier ones. It was opened to the public in 1973 and restoration work has brought it back into use as a fully working tide mill.

Thanks to a huge National Lottery grant and fundraising, Sutton Hoo is transforming the way that we tell the story of one of the greatest archaeological discoveries of all time. The National Trust manages the hauntingly beautiful 255 acre estate with its far-reaching views over the River Deben. Visitors can walk around the Royal Burial Ground and discover the incredible story of the the ship burial of an Anglo-Saxon King and his treasured possessions.

The Orford Ness Nature Reserve is wild, remote and exposed. It contains the ruined remnants of a disturbing past where weapons, including atomic bombs, were once tested ad perfected. Rare and fragile wildlife thrives in this lovely spot.

Woodbridge Granary is within an easy drive of the charming coastal village of Aldeburgh. Aldeburgh offers highly distinctive architecture, much charm, a welcoming ambience and a lovely beach. Famous for its connection with the composer Benjamin Britten, it boasts a stunning ‘Scallop’ sculpture on the beach which is 4 metres high and is inscribed with the words ‘I hear those voices that will not be drowned’ from Britten’s famous opera Grimes. There is an annual Aldeburgh Festival which takes place in June and was originally founded by Benjamin Brittan. You can visit The Red House where he stayed for a glimpse of his life. Visitors can buy the freshest of catches at the fisherman’s huts on the beach for your alfresco supper or visit the numerous art galleries.

Just along the coast, Thorpeness is a magical, mystical village where you will find The Meare, an artificially created, Peter Pan themed boating lake. The landings and tiny islands have Peter Pan names such as  ‘The Pirate’s Lair’ and ‘Wendy’s Island’. Visitors can hire rowing boats and enjoy family rowing on the water. Thorpeness Golf Club is regarded as one of Suffolk’s finest with 18 holes and par 70, just a stone’s throw from the beach.
