Set in an enviable position close to the River Deben, with access to the owners’ quay, the award-winning Boathouse boasts spectacular and ever-changing views across the Deben from the shared river terrace (the photo shows the view from the river terrace just 30m from your front door). The Boathouse has been completely renovated to provide a great retreat for single people and couples alike, just a short drive from the bustling market town of Woodbridge. The accommodation with its stylish interior is on two levels with an open-plan living area with a kitchen, dining and seating areas whilst upstairs there is a vaulted ceiling to the master bedroom. The property is well equipped for holidaymakers all year round and ideally situated to explore the Suffolk countryside and the Heritage Coast.
It is a bird watchers and photographer’s dream with both the amazing sunrises and variety of wildlife. It is also a perfect base for all water-borne activities as canoeists, windsurfers and paddle boarders can launch at high water directly from our own quay, which can also be used by fishermen and women. The Boathouse itself is located close to the Suffolk Coastal path and the area is a haven for walkers, cyclists and bird watchers. Within easy reach are the coastal towns of Aldeburgh, Southwold and Orford, together with Framlingham Castle, Sutton Hoo, rspb Minsmere, the concert hall at Snape and the County town of Ipswich. Waldringfield even has its own beach and officially designated swimming area! For your convenience there is a range of shops at Martlesham Heath located just a 10-minute drive away.
Nearer at hand, just 200 yards from the property, is a pub and restaurant which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. A take-away service is also available. The pub is one of seven award-winning Suffolk pubs, each with its own unique personality and all set in stunning locations. Guests of The Boathouse have the benefit of a special privilege card.

Beautiful cottage so peaceful ,best welcome pack ,very close local pub food very good served all day ,gorgeous views from the sun terrace of the estuary ,lovely walks will definitely be going back .l,

Had a lovely stay at The Boathouse and would highly recommend a stay there. Tastefully decorated, spotlessly clean and well equipped. Cherry left us a very comprehensive welcome pack with lots of recommendations which we found very useful along with a those little essentials you need such as bread, milk etc. Beautiful garden to sit out in. The Boathouse is in a good location too - easy to visit places such as Aldeburgh, Southwold, Felixstowe etc.

Even without a car this is a great location. The Boathouse was comfortable and cosy and very close to the pub. We enjoyed the peace and tranquillity of the location and the views across the River Deben. We used it as a base for walking the peninsular. For those thinking of arriving by train. M&R Cars are very reliable. The bus stops are about 2.5 miles walk away and there is Connecting Communities transport available that can be pre-booked. We would happily stay here again
