Dine alfresco in the wrap around garden, full of bluebells in the spring, alternatively enjoy an afternoon in the garden room with a good book. Bluebell is positioned in Kettleburgh on the banks of the river Deben, largely arable and wooded counrtyside, complete with a a pub 'The Chequers Inn'. Just under a 10 minute drive away is the market town of Framlingham, home of the famous Castle on the Hill. Framlingham enjoys an array of beautiful independent shops and restaurants. The Suffolk Coast is just a 30 minute driveaway, with Aldeburgh, Thorpeness, RSPB Minsmere, Dunwich and Walberswick all waiting to be enjoy.

The beautiful market town of Framlingham is mentioned in the Domesday Book (1086) and has been known since Anglo Saxon times, when it consisted of several manors which William the Conqueror (1066-1087) presented to Roger Bigod. The town is of particular interest as it has a large castle and mere which was built between 1190 and 1210. The town is surrounded by lovely villages to explore and has two of the oldest working post boxes and one of Britain’s smallest houses, with the footprint measuring 6.1x2.2m! Today, the town offers a number of independent shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants and it is also home to Framlingham Summer Arts Festival.
