About this property

Saxmundham 4.9 miles. An amazing refurbished shepherd’s hut nestled into the countryside of Blaxhall, near Saxmundham. The Hut is the ideal hideaway for a couple wishing to explore the countryside and coast of Suffolk. Boasting idyllic views across the countryside, be welcomed into a picturesque blue painted shepherd’s hut, and park off-road before settling down inside this wonderful property. Inside, quirky décor adds a splash of colour to a studio layout, where a sitting area makes a great space for relaxing with a book, or you can catch up on your favourite TV shows, and from here you will find a small kitchenette housing a sink, kettle, toaster, microwave and fridge with ice box. The space is fitted with a double bed and shower, and outside you will find a table and chairs for alfresco dining. Blaxhall has a selection of walks for you to enjoy, with scenic views and a short drive away you will find the town of Snape, with a local pub and riverside walks. There is also the option of visiting Snape Bridge and the surrounding walks, and here you will discover the Maltings, a great art complex which houses the well-known Aldeburgh Festival. Stock up on essentials at the local convenience store before heading over to the picturesque Snape marshes to see what wildlife you can spot. If you love a day at the beach, then grab your beach towels and head over to the seaside town of Aldeburgh, where a brilliant pebble beach encourages you to take to the waves in your favourite watersports or enjoy a scenic picnic. Visit the local independent shops and museum before ending the day in a local eatery with a glass of your favourite beverage. Make a memorable couple’s holiday with a stay in The Hut.

Saxmundham is a small market town located on the River Fromus, in the heart of Suffolk’s Heritage Coast. The town is well serviced with independent shops, local museum, supermarkets and a train station, as well as art galleries, a weekly market and a farmers’ market. Situated so close to the coast, Saxmundham is a great base for a seaside holiday; within easy reach of Aldeburgh and Thorpeness, as well as Dunwich, Southwold and Walberswick, you could enjoy a different coastal location each day. Also close by is the inland market town Framlingham with beautiful historic architecture, a castle and an array of independent shops. South of the town there is the well known tourist destination of Sutton Hoo, an ancient Royal Anglo-Saxon burial site. With Ipswich an easy drive south, and Norwich an easy drive north, there’s so much to see and do in and around Saxmundham.
