Our hosts, Carol and Colin, were very kind, helpful and welcoming. We felt immediately at home in this cosy barn setting, cake and wine waiting for us (though we rarely drink). Having arrived on a very wet evening, it was warm and inviting thanks to the overhead heating. Also the log burner added to the coziness. Chicken Hatch Barn is so well equipped, we could barely want for anything. It manages to mix all the modern comforts and conveniences without compromising the old world charm. Set in working farm land, we were also able to glimpse some of the wildlife, birds etc. We would definitely visit again!

A cosy barn, perfect for 2 people and a dog. The garden is totally secure and there's a walk from the door if you want to take the dog out first thing before starting out for the day. The barn is equipped with everything you need and Carol bakes a delicious sponge for you to enjoy with a cup of tea when you arrive, which is a really nice touch. The location was excellent for exploring the local area, Dulwich and Southwold were particular favourites for our first time here. We found everyone really friendly and would particularly recommend the Poachers Pocket pub which is about a 15 minute walk. We went by car though, as you have to cross the A12 to get to it, which didn't look like much fun. The next time we decide to go that way we'll certainly try to stay at Chicks Hatch Barn again. Thank you Carol and Colin for a super stay.
