Perfect for a romantic getaway or a solo adventure, this compact cottage is located in the heart of Saxmundham, a historic market town where you’ll find a choice of boutiques, restaurants and pubs. More shops, as well as art galleries and an array of events can be found at Snape Maltings, just 4 miles away, while the arty seaside town of Aldeburgh is 8 miles away – the place to try some excellent fish and chips. Stroll the iconic pier or visit the beach at Southwold (17 miles) or head to the charming village of Orford (12 miles), with it castle and historic quay. History lovers will enjoy a trip to Framlingham Castle (8 miles) or to Somerleyton Hall (28 miles) where you can explore its impressive gardens.

Open the outer door on the street and store bikes or walking sticks in the covered alley before heading in through the main front door. You’ll walk straight into the open-plan living space, which is a lovely mix of modern comforts and original Georgian features, including rustic beams and an exposed-flint wall. The compact, galley-style kitchen contains everything you’ll need to whip up holiday snacks and light meals – with a coffee machine for that all-important morning wake-up. Dine at the table for two before stretching out on the soft seating for a quiet evening at home. There’s a Smart TV for entertainment, and books, maps and board games are also provided. Steep, cottage-style stairs take you up to the first floor, where there’s a deceptively spacious bedroom with a vaulted, beamed ceiling. This restful room has a TV, blackout curtains and storage space for clothes. Completing the interior is a bathroom with a shower over the bath.

The covered area outside your front door has hooks for coats and walking sticks and is for the use of this cottage only; it also has space for two bikes to be stored securely. In this area is also a small outdoor seating area with fold up chairs and table where you can enjoy a drink or snack in the fresh air. Parking is on-street and, while subject to availability, is usually possible within a few metres of the door.
