We found the lodge was every that was listed and was really cosy and comfortable. The heating was on when we arrived which was fantastic as it had been a really cold day. The beds were really comfortable and I had a couple of really good night's sleep. The bathroom had a really, really good shower as well, which was really appreciated. The lodge is in very pleasant surroundings just off a very quite road. On the bird feeders and in the surrounding fields we saw a lot of different wildlife, including green woodpeckers, greater spotted woodpeckers, tree creepers, buzzards, an array of tits and a tawny owl (heard only). The lodge is in a really good location that's easy to get to and within an easy drive of a lot of what the region has to offer, such as Aldeburgh, Southwold, RSPB Minsmere, and Sutton Hoo to name a few. Saxmundham and Leiston have plenty of amenities if you need to stop up on any shopping to take back to the hut where there is the facility to cook up any reasonable sized dinner. Theberton itself is a quiet and charming village. There is a really decent playpark in the village that was ideal for our little one. One criticism I have is that the listing (currently) really understates how good the pub is. It's a cracking pub, with lots of decor that shows off the local history and you can find in the Good Beer Guide at the time of writing. The staff and locals were really friendly and there is a good range of home cooked food and they catered for the little one. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay here and if you are interested in visiting this part of Suffolk with a small family and are looking for a cosy and comfortable lodge within a good driving distance of many local sights then I would highly recommend this place.

Had everything we needed including towels and very well equipped with crockery and cooking utensils etc. Comfortable sofa and dining area with decent size tv and good choice of channels. Decent sized and well fenced garden for our large labradoodle, which he enjoyed playing ball in and loved the bag of treats kindly left for him. Good easy parking. Warm and cosy lodge and will definitely visit again. Helpful literature on local attractions and easy to travel to attractions like Dunwich Heath and Sizewell beach. Only very minor negative, could do with something like an airer in laundry room to dry wet clothes on as limited drying area in lodge for soggy jackets etc although we did get caught in storm Henk so rather extreme rain. Can't wait to return. Owners very friendly and helpful.
