About this property

This charming period cottage is just seconds from the beach as well as a number of restaurants, galleries and independent retailers, not forgetting two fantastic fish and chip shops! The ideal location for a family of 4.

Tucked between Aldeburgh's beach and High Street, Mariner's Cottage is perfectly located for everything this charming seaside town has to offer.

snape 5 miles, southwold 22 miles, woodbridge 17 miles, orford 12 miles

Only seconds' walk from both Aldeburgh's High Street, with its array of lovely shops and restaurants, and the beach - cooling in summer and invigorating come winter - Mariner's Cottage is tucked away in a location just perfect for everything Aldeburgh has to offer... which is quite a lot, for its size.

It really is only a matter of seconds to walk from the cottage to two of England's finest fish and chip shops, and then only seconds to walk in the other direction to enjoy them as nature intended - on the beach (don't feed the gulls!) If you're after a more refined dining experience, Aldeburgh has several excellent stand-alone restaurants such as Regatta, The Lighthouse as well as in-hotel restaurants in The White Lion Hotel, The Wentworth and The Brudenell.

For something more casual, perhaps a quick lunch, a stroll along the high street will find you spoilt for choice with cafes, tea rooms and delis. Or of course you could just buy some fish fresh from the beach in one of the fish huts and light up the barbecue.

Aldeburgh is also full of wonderful, quality shops, not to mention oozing with the arts, with an art or exhibition gallery at almost every turn, independent cinema/theatre, and it is of course home to the Aldeburgh Festival and Jill Freud Summer Theatre.

Lovely holiday in your cottage. Boys had a great week crabbing, boating, cycling and of course the Carnival!

Thank you for a wonderful holiday at your cottage. We have had such good fun; crabbing in Orford, boating in Thorpeness, enjoying the beaches at Aldeburgh and Southwold, wandering around Snape Maltings and much more. A particular highlight was swimming in the sea!
