This architect-designed, double-glazed, Scandinavian-style cottage is adjacent to the green of the classic Suffolk village of Hartest, featured in the Doomsday Book. It is one of Suffolk’s most attractive villages. The village green has lovely period cottages on all sides. Next to the property is a 16th-century country pub with a restaurant and garden, which serves ales from a micro-brewery. There is a traditional butcher on the village green and two local vineyards to enjoy. For those interested in fishing, within 5 miles there are fishing lakes featuring carp, tench and perch. A value base for couples, Hartest is an easy drive from the Suffolk Heritage Coast and Constable Country. It is equidistant between the market towns of Bury St Edmunds and Sudbury, close to Lavenham, Long Melford and Ickworth. Good walks abound directly from the property.
