About this property

Tucked away on the outskirts of Elmswell in Suffolk, is this charming two-bedroom, end of terrace house, 1 Barbers Row. Built in the mid-nineties and enjoying easy access to the local amenities, as well as the bustling town of Bury St Edmunds and the scenic Thetford Forest, 1 Barbers Row is a fabulous dwelling for couples or a family of three. Park-up on the shared car park before stepping into your new holiday home. Look forward to whipping up delicious meals in the well-equipped kitchen, featuring a handy washing machine, ready to enjoy at the dining table in the conservatory as you recount the days adventures. If the weather is nice, why not dine alfresco out in the rear enclosed garden with a glass of wine? After dinner, retire to the sofa where you can kick-back and relax after a day of exploring in front of your favourite show on the TV. Climb the stairs up to the first floor, where you can wash away the day in the sleek shower room, home to a shower mixer and rainfall shower head, before choosing from two well-presented bedrooms to catch your rest in, a double and a single. Wander into the local village, where you can treat your loved ones to a tasty meal at the popular Fox Thai Restaurant, followed by drinks at the Elmswell Tavern. The village also has a well-stocked convenience store for picking up fresh ingredients and two takeaways for those evening’s when you don’t feel like venturing out. Wildlife enthusiasts will delight at the close proximity of Luke’s Wood Nature Reserve, where you can enjoy a leisurely stroll whilst spotting the local wildlife. You accommodation is just paces away from the villages train station for easy transport links too! Next stop is Stowmarket, where you can tour The Food Museum, hook your catch of the day at Riverside Fisheries, or sample the delights of the many eateries on offer. Bury St Edmund’s is not to be missed, with its remarkable cathedral and abbey, here you can visit the 19th-century Moyse’s Hall Museum, catch a live performance at the Theatre Royal, delve into history at the Suffolk Regiment Museum and test out your swing at the Bury St Edmunds Golf Club. Continue onto Thetford, where you will find the beautiful Thetford Priory, the Ancient House Museum and the famous Thetford Forest Park, where you can enjoy adventures among the treetops at Go Ape. What are you waiting for? Secure your stay at 1 Barbers Row.

Everything you need for a comfortable stay. Well located for attractions inland and on the coast. Kitchen is very well equipped . No dishwasher but that wasn’t an issue. Welcome pack was a lovely touch. Would not hesitate to recommend.

It had all the facilities that we wanted, and we did not miss a dishwasher. A very well stocked village store is within walking distance, with another very close to the cottage. It is very centrally located in Suffolk and we were able to easily visit lovely Suffolk villages, Sutton Hoo, an Anglo Saxon village, Constable country, Bury St Edmunds, various gardens and National Trust places. It is also within easy reach of Cambridge and other towns. We would certainly stay in this cottage again.

Location close to bus stop and train station within 5 minutes walk along with shop, pub and post office. Also a coffee shop about a 10 minute stroll. Ideal base for touring areas. Lots of National Trust properties all within an hours drive. Highly recommend.
