Settled within the Gipping valley of Suffolk is this charming, small town, Needham Market. In the heart of the town is the high street, which is a designated a conservation area, hosting mostly Grade II listed buildings and the 7th century Old Grammar School, as well as a 15th century church to explore. There is a lake for peaceful walks, fishing or a picnic. Historically, the town expanded with its wool combing industry, however suffered during the plague and now has two streets names after the plague, Chainhouse Road and The Causeway. There is also a town in Massachusetts that is named after this small Suffolk town. The town is home to a great selection of pubs and there are a variety of gift shops, convenience stores, as well as a car boot sale, which is open every Wednesday and Saturday. Needham Market is within easy reach of the charming town of Ipswich, where you can tour the magnificent mansion, which hosts a museum and art gallery, as well as rummage around popular retailers or dine out at a delicious eatery.
