We had the most wonderful stay at The Old House, and honestly didn’t want to leave. From the moment we arrived, it felt like stepping into something really special – a beautiful thatched cottage full of character, history, and warmth. We stayed as a family – grandparents, me, and three children – and the cottage was absolutely perfect for all of us. There was plenty of space for everyone to relax without ever feeling on top of each other, and the mix of cosy living areas and comfortable bedrooms made it feel like a true home away from home. The children loved having space to play, especially in the large enclosed garden, while the adults really appreciated the peaceful countryside setting and the chance to properly unwind. The cottage itself is stunning – full of charm with exposed beams and traditional features, but with all the modern comforts you could need. The kitchen was really well equipped for family meals together. Everything was clean, well looked after, and clearly cared for. One of the highlights for us was the location. It’s so peaceful , yet still within easy reach of lovely towns and days out. It gave us the perfect balance of relaxing “get away from it all” time and exploring the surrounding area. This was more than just a holiday cottage – it was a place where we made some really special family memories. Watching the kids run around the garden, enjoying meals together, and playing games on the kitchen in the evenings made it a trip we’ll all remember for a long time.We would absolutely recommend The Old House to anyone looking for a peaceful, character-filled family getaway.
