For walking and exploring the coast, Shotley Heritage Park has outstanding views of Parkeston Quay, Harwich, and across the River Stour to the County of Essex. The woodland on the cliff is home to a variety of species of flora and fauna, including a number of deer living in the area. Shotley Gate is a great location for exploring nearby destinations, such as Ipswich, a bustling town with beautiful parks, museums and an abundance of shops, and the picturesque Felixstowe, a seaside town with pretty coastal walks, pastel coloured beach huts and plenty of local eateries to try.
