This quaint 17th century cottage, in the peaceful village of Tattingstone, is well placed to enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside and the delights of the Suffolk and Essex coast. Alton Water Park reservoir and nature reserve stretches across 400 acres and is on the doorstep, offering sailing, windsurfing, kayaking, bike hire and paddle boarding nature trails and fishing. The quieter, more southern part of Alton Water is within a two minute walk. Just a short drive from Constable Country, you can see the inspiration for the famous painter. There are a variety of scenic walks, or you could hire a boat and explore the River Stour along Dedham and Flatford. Jimmy's Farm and Wildlife Park and the Suffolk Ski Centre are just 2/3 miles away. Quaint Suffolk villages such as Lavenham, Long Melford , Kersey are a short drive away;.The coastal resort of Felixstowe is just 15 miles away, with Southwold, Aldeburgh and Thorpeness within an hours drive. After parking on the main road walk up towards the pink cottage. Open the metal gate with the sign 'Cosy Nook' and follow the pathway leading to the right hand side of the property. Through the wooden gate to the side of the property and along a red brick path takes you to the side located front door. Arrive in the small hallway and explore a holiday home which is full of character with low, exposed beans and low doors. To the left is the living area with two armchairs, a two seater sofa and TV in front of a welcoming wood burner. From here, the property wraps around into the dining area with table and four chairs and provides another comfortable place to relax and unwind in an armchair or sofa in front of the Smart TV (please note this TV can only access Smart functions as there is no aerial)Leading off from the dining room and lounge is a well equipped kitchen with an electric oven and hob, microwave and a fridge with ice compartment. Completing the downstairs is the family shower room and WC. Up the steep cottage style staircase, which is accessed from the kitchen, you will find the master bedroom which has a king size bed, and a twin zip and link bedroom (which can be made into a super king size on request). There is also a small study/dressing room area with a desk and chair. Outside, you have an enclosed garden and patio area with a table and chairs, perfect to catch some sun or enjoy dining alfresco. There is also a gorgeous summer house with two armchairs and a sofa, ideal for reading and relaxing. Parking for the property is to the front of the cottage on the main road. Need to know: 2 bedrooms 1 king size and 1 twin zip and link (which can be made into a super king size on request). 1 shower room with WC. Electric oven and hob, fridge with ice compartment and microwave. Smart TV in lounge and TV in dining area. Wood burner (first basket of logs included) The wood burner shown in image 1 had been replaced with a smaller wood burner (see image 12). Roadside parking. Beach 5.5 miles, shop 4 miles and pub within walking distance. Please note, there are steep stairs and low ceilings and doorways throughout the cottage .
