Winter Cottage is located just 5 minutes from the charming town of Long Melford known for its antique shops, art galleries, tea rooms and independent shops. Just outside of the town is Kentwell Hall and the picture postcard village of Lavenham is also nearby. Jump in the car for days out to places such as Castle Country Park, Go Ape Thetford, Framlingham Castle, Helmingham Hall and Open Gardens and Yoxford Antiques Centre and Gardens. The cottage is situated near to, not one but two, designated Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Dedham Vale and Suffolk Coast and Heaths, so there is no shortage of scenic walks and hikes. Towns within a short drive worth visiting include Stowmarket and Bury St Edmunds or head to the coast and check out Aldeburgh, Southwold and Thorpeness; just don’t forget your bucket and spade.
