About this property

The Old Barn is a converted threshing barn with parts dating back to the 19th Century. It is situated in the grounds of Dove House, a stunning example of a 14th Century Suffolk Hall House and takes in the views across the pasture and the surrounding countryside of the Brett Valley. Dove House has been a working farm for centuries and is currently home to livestock and horses. This rustic property gives a wonderful base to explore Suffolk from and you are ideally suited to visit the likes of Bury St Edmunds and Newmarket whilst also being able to get over to the coast.

The barn boasts a wonderful vaulted reception area with a gallery upstairs and lots of space for you to relax in. There is a light filled sun room off the gallery with wonderful views across the pastureland and is a lovely space for some time for yourself. In the colder months there is the benefit of a wood burning stove in the sitting room so you can have a cosy room to return to after being out and about. The kitchen is really well equipped and upstairs you have the choice of either two double bedrooms or a double and a twin room.

The Old Barn has the use of a shared swimming pool in the warmer months and there is a further enclosed private courtyard area along with a barbecue if you feel like dining al fresco. Beyond the immediate vicinity of the barn, there are a number of marked pathways around the fields which you are welcome to use to explore the grounds.

The Old Barn has a sleeps 7 option which is available year round whilst the sleeps 4 option is only available in the quieter months. There is also a second property on the site - Stable Cottage which can sleep 6 guests with a low occupancy option of sleeping 4 guests during the quieter months.
